The 26th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26) at the Scottish Conference Center in Glasgow, on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, was attended by a delegation of our country headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who addressed the forum with a number of specific initiatives of the Turkmen side aimed at consolidating the efforts of the international community in adaptation and mitigation of climate change.

In order to protect the environment in the epoch of might and happiness, to further increase the efficiency of work carried out in the context of preventing climate change, improve the socio-economic and environmental situation in the region of Turkmenistan in the Aral Sea zone, minimize the negative impact of the Aral Sea, as well as fulfill the tasks arising from the Resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly "Cooperation between the United Nations and the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea", the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution approving the National Programme of Turkmenistan for the Aral Sea for 2021-2025 and the action plan for its implementation.
