The opening of the first golf club in Turkmenistan is carried out in Ashgabat with participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Numerous participants and guests of the ceremony gathered on the ground in front of the golf complex. There are the Chairperson of the Mejlis, members of the Government, leaders of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments of the country and mass media. Atmosphere of celebration events is supported by performances of famous art bands of the country with vocal and choreographic compositions. The President of Turkmenistan addressed the participants with congratulations. New complex occupying more than 70 hectares together with the courts is located in south-west part of the capital next to fashionable Yilduz Hotel. All construction works were carried out by domestic individual enterprise Myradym, which has already built several important facilities including Avaza sport complex on the Caspian coast. Now, our specialist perfectly managed such complex facility as golf field, which construction requires sound knowledge of landscape construction and design. Project and consulting works were carried out by Nicklaus Design from USA, which Head Jack Nicklaus was met by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for several times to discuss the opportunities of the golf development in our country. Today, another idea of the Head of the State has been implemented – Ashgabat has a golf club with luxury, beautiful fields and the sport itself being an exotic one for Turkmenistan citizens recently would attract number of amateurs, which probably would become the professionals in the future. However, the main purpose of the project is a social one, in other words, this is for making of all conditions for prosperous life and healthy recreation of people. Besides, the presence of the golf course meeting the highest criteria of similar facilities will allow holding international championships and world tournaments in Turkmen capital as well as attracting more tourists.
