A solemn meeting was held in the Mejlis with the participation of the country’s parliament deputies and members, representatives of public organizations to consider the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games results, which successfully came to the end in Ashgabat. According to speakers, Turkmenistan has excellently accomplished its entrusted mission of hosting the sporting event of such high level. The Games’ competitions brought together about 6.000 representatives of 64 countries in Asia and Oceania, as well as a refugees’ team, which took part for the first time in the Asian Games. In fair sports competitions our athletes won the first place in team rating, having demonstrated to the whole world the great attention that is paid to health of citizens in Turkmenistan, development of the mass physical training movement and the sport of higher achievements. During a meeting, in accordance with the Decision of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Serdar Gurbanguliyevich Berdymuhamedov was presented a certificate and a badge on conferring the honorary title “Türkmenistanyň at gazanan tälimçisi” (Honored Coach of Turkmenistan). This was done to appreciate his services in raising the international prestige of Turkmenistan as the sports power and his personal contribution to training of athletes who won prizes in the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.
