Historical decision of the Olympic Asian Council on conduct of 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat is an evidence of growing authority of our independent Motherland in the sports world, - President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has said in his speech during the ceremony of 10 days countdown until the beginning of the Games. Sport is a power consolidating the society and inspiring people t high achievements, the Head of the State highlighted. We make large investments to the development of physical training and sports to meet modern requirements. This is indicated by large sports and equestrian complexes, stadiums and other sports facilities, which have been built recently in the country and meeting all international standards. The Olympic village worth more than 5 billion US dollars and having no analogues in the region has been constructed in Ashgabat to host V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games on high organizational level. The country modernizes sports system, develops physical training public movement and trains the sportsmen of international class. Opening ceremony of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games is to take place in 10 day where the sportsmen from 45 Asian countries and 19 Oceania states for the first time as well as refugee team will be participating. The start to unprecedented equestrian ride was given on May 5, 2016, 500 days prior to the beginning of V Asian Games. Ceremonial events took place when there were 250, 200, 100 and 50 days left until the beginning of the Games. Test international competitions were successfully held in the Olympic village. The Head of the State wished the members of Turkmenistan national team, the hosts of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, demonstrate all their abilities and win the most of the gold medals.
