Now the national boxing team of Turkmenistan is headed by famous Russian coach, honoured master of sports, an Olympic champion, world and European champion Alexander Borisovich Lebzyak. He officially started to train the national team three and a half month back. But for this short period his trainees, participating in the international tournaments, had time to win seven awards. So, for example, in Baku in the Islamic games (on May 12-22) they won three medals: a gold by Arslanbek Achilov (75 kg), a silver by Yakub Meredov (56 kg) and a bronze by Hursant Imankuliev (60 kg). It has not passed two and a half month as Alexander Lebzyak's same athletes - A.Achilov, Y.Meredov and H.Imankuliev - in Minsk in the tournament of memory of the Hero of Soviet Union Victor Liventsev won 3 more medals. However, this time the qualitative structure of awards became higher - two ""gold"" and a ""silver"". In Minsk places secured on the podium of honour were higher than in Baku by Yakub Meredov and Hursant Imankuliev. Before these competitions boxer N.Nuryagdyev (81 kg), who acted in Tashkent in the championship of Asia, won a bronze medal, and together with it the right to participate in the world championship to be held in Hamburg (Germany) from August 22 to September 3. Alexander Borisovich considers this world championship as one of the major stages of the program of preparation of the national team of Turkmenistan developed by him to the Summer Olympic Games to be held in Japan in 2020.
