Conference devoted to the successes and international cooperation in the field of nature protection and Worldwide Environmental Protection Day was held in Ashgabat, in the conference hall of office of departments of the agricultural complex of Turkmenistan. Among participants of the forum are the scientists and experts, specialists of nature conservation structures and sectoral departments, representatives of national parliament. The representatives of international and regional organizations – UN Development Program, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, German Society for international cooperation, Agency for Cooperation and Coordination of the Republic of Turkey also took part in the meeting. In the course of the conference, it was discussed regular issues set before the sector. National nature conservation strategy is based on complex solution of tasks in economic sector, social sphere and ecology. The reports of participants highlighted the leading experience of the Turkmen specialists, undertaken measures and attainments of the country in the field of nature protection. It was informed about successful realization of scale landscaping program, hydroeconomic projects, implementation of measures on preservation of biological diversity and natural landscapes. Within the framework of ecological forum, it was held solemn awarding ceremony of valuable gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan to more distinguished workers of nature conservation sphere. The UN Nature conservation Conventions on biological diversity, struggle against desertification, climate change, on ozone layer protection, on protection and use of transboundary channels and international lakes ratified by Turkmenistan vividly testify about adherence of our country to ecologically safe and sustainable development.
