Regular issue of the quarterly scientific and practical journal ""Foreign Policy and Diplomacy of Turkmenistan"" published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was issued to familiarize the audience with the priorities of the state development strategy and the vectors of the country's foreign policy based on the principles of positive neutrality. The publication reflected the significant events of the first quarter of this year, including the February presidential elections of the President of Turkmenistan. The most important socio-political campaign, which took place on a genuinely democratic, alternative basis, became a milestone in the modern history of the Motherland. As is known, by a huge majority Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov was again elected to the highest state post, with the name and activity of whom the Turkmen people associate with a happy present and bright future. The speech of the President of Turkmenistan at the inauguration ceremony on February 17 in Ashgabat opens the issue of the journal. Turkmenistan continues to successfully implement the constructive foreign policy, about which testifies results of foreign visits of the leader of the nation and visits to our country by the heads of a number of foreign countries held in the first quarter of this year, to which is devoted to a selection of materials. In this year the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's membership in the UN is celebrated. Multifaceted cooperation between the country and the largest international organization is devoted to the article of the UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative and Representative of the United Nations Population Fund in Turkmenistan Elena Panova. The fruitful interaction between Turkmenistan and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is described in a publication, the author of which is the Regional Representative, UNHCR Regional Coordinator for Central Asia Yasuko Oda. Achievements of Turkmenistan in implementing the strategy for protecting public health have become the topic of the article of the Director of the European Regional Office of the World Health Organization, Zsuzsanna Jakab. One of the publications of the issue is devoted to the development and improvement of the national political system of Turkmenistan in the context of the implemented transformational processes and democratic reforms implemented in the country, its structure and fundamental foundations. The rich factual material traces the process of formation of the political system of Turkmenistan and the ways of its further improvement have been well-reasoned substantiated. Among the topics of the publications there were the history and basic principles of Turkmen diplomacy, the country's experience in achieving sustainable economic growth in the context of globalization, as well as Turkmenistan's energy and cultural diplomacy. In the context of complex measures for the development of sports, as well as the forthcoming the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, the article ""Harmonization of National and International Norms of Sport Law "" is of interest. As already reported, one of the types of competitions included in the program of the Asian Games-2017 is show jumping. A separate publication is devoted to the development of domestic equestrian sport and the famous Akhalteke horses. Completes the issue the traditional section ""Chronicle of Diplomatic Life"", where are covered events of international character of the first quarter of 2017, as well as a chronicle of personnel and other documents.
