By a Decree of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, five horse trainers from the country’s equestrian complexes have been awarded the honorary title of “Türkmenistanyň Halk Atşynasy” (“People’s Horse-breeder of Turkmenistan”) in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the art of horse breeding, popularization and enhancement of Akhalteke horses’ worldwide fame, their big personal contribution to the development of the horse-breeding sector and equestrian sport as well as in honor of Turkmen Horse Day. Ten citizens have earned the honorary title of “Türkmenistanyň At Gazanan Atşynasy” (“Honored Horse-breeder of Turkmenistan”). Today, massive efforts are being undertaken successfully in our country to develop the horse-breeding industry, to preserve the purity of the Akhalteke breed, improve the external appearance and to increase the number of “heavenly” horses, which are the Turkmen nation’s national wealth, to boost their global popularity, to promote international cooperation in this area as well as to train highly-qualified specialists, horse-breeders, horse trainers and equestrians. To this end, modern equestrian complexes, stables and equestrian training centers are built and put into operation countrywide.
