The tournament was organized by the State Association “Turkmen Atlary”, the State Sports Committee and the National Equestrian Center. On the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov this sport was included in the program of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. Therefore, the present tournament is an important stage in the preparation for the Asian Games-2017 to take place in several months. The competitions in an indoor arena of the International Akhalteke Equestrian Complex was represented by riders on racers of the Akhalteke Horse Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, the National Equestrian Center, the International Akhalteke Equestrian Complex, velayat equestrian complexes and several ministries, including 15 participants. The best Turkmen riders also demonstrated their skills, who were supported by numerous fans that filled the stands to become spectators of beautiful and exciting competitions. The participants in the tournament had to overcome 11 obstacles. According to the rules of the tournament, the rider, who failed to overcome one obstacle twice, was out of further competition. In the first round, athletes jumped over barriers of 1 meter 15 centimeters. According to the established rules, the best of them went were allowed to take part in the second round, where the barrier height was 1 meter 20 centimeters. The winners of the tournament will be announced on the Turkmen Horse Day to be celebrated on Sunday, April 30.
