The investment rate in Turkmenistan’s telecommunications sector grows with every passing year, this leads to an increase in numbers of telephone and cellular communications subscribers, Internet customers and communications channels, run through high-technology fiber-optic cables. The number of people living in hard-to-reach and remote areas in the regions, who will get access to information and communication technologies, is expected to increase significantly this year. The Ministry of Communications has purchased about 300 modern digital telephone stations from world-known manufacturers. They will enable the population to receive broadband Internet connection and data transmission services via high-speed channels, as well as high-quality communications services. The telephone stations are being installed by “Turkmentelekom” State Telecommunications Company. Solar batteries will be used to ensure continuous power supply to the equipment in hard-to-reach areas.
