The past week was marked with a number of the events reflecting the efficiency of realisation of state programs initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag and successfully realised under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, which are aimed at productive consolidation and long-term relations with international organisations, the strengthening of cooperation with countries of the planet for universal peace and well-being.

On July 20, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an online working meeting to consider rates of work in the agricultural complex of the country.

The basic attention was given to the forthcoming wheat sowing campaign, care of cotton fields according to agro-technical standards, rice fields in Dashoguz and Lebap velayats, sugar beet fields in Mary velayat as well as preparation for the sowing of autumn potato, vegetables and gourds and other agricultural crops.

Besides it, the importance of observance of terms and quality of fulfilment of civil work at various projects planned to open in velayats this year according to programs of social and economic development of the country was underlined.

On July 20, 2026, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Resident Coordinator of the United Nations to Turkmenistan, Xiaojun Grace Wang, who presented her credentials to the head of the state.

The President of the country with satisfaction stated the consecutive and highly effective character of cooperation of Turkmenistan with the United Nations. He also underlined that our state attaches a great significance to the strengthening of peace and productive use of possibilities of preventive diplomacy, consistently acts with the important initiatives aimed at maintenance of energy security, development of transport-transit corridors and preservation of the environment. Proposals brought by our country receive a broad support on the international scene.

On the agenda of cooperation with the United Nations, a significant role of the Strategic Advisory Council "Turkmenistan-United Nations Organization", which is an effective platform for discussion of interaction in such priority areas as maintenance of peace and security, economy, sustainable development, education, climate change and humanitarian issues, was also marked.

As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov pointed out, for years of long-term partnership based on country programs, joint projects have been successfully realized and continue to be implemented in the field of achievement of SDGs in the country. At present, interaction is conducted within the Framework programme of cooperation in the field of sustainable development between the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Organization for 2026-2030.

In turn, the diplomat underlined that it is a great honour for her to represent the United Nations in Turkmenistan and assured that she will make her best efforts for the further development of effective partnership.

On July 24, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers to consider a number of issues of state life.

Among them – the strengthening of national legislative framework, preparation for the Investment forum of Turkmenistan to be held in Ashgabat in October of the current year and cooperation with leading foreign companies in the field of exploration of underground riches, course of seasonal agricultural campaigns, supply of home consumers with electric power, construction of modern buildings of railway stations in Akhal, Balkan and Mary velayats.

It was also informed that from August 1, on the threshold of the new academic year, in velayats, etraps, Ashgabat and Arkadag cities, the retail trade in school accessories will begin.

Various festive events, exhibitions, conferences and advocating and explanatory actions are planned to hold in August of the current year on the occasion of the motto of 2026 «Independent neutral Turkmenistan - the homeland of purposeful winged horses» and the 35^th anniversary of sacred independence of our fatherland.

Within the work on development of sports, discovery of talented sportsmen in Ashgabat the training session of bicyclers of the national team of Turkmenistan and bicycle club Abu-Dhabi will be held.

The further development of strategic cooperation with the United Nations became a separate theme of the meeting of the government.

As was informed, on the basis of the initiatives, which are put forward by the head of the state on the international and regional political platforms, priority positions of Turkmenistan were prepared for the 81^st session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, including the strengthening of universal peace and safety.

On the margins of the upcoming session, Turkmenistan plans to carry out interstate consultations on preparation of the Strategy of universal peace. At the 81^st session of the General Assembly, our country will propose to declare the 2027-2037 Decade of dialogue and preventive diplomacy, and will also make an initiative on creation of the group of within the limits of the United Nations of Group of friends of multilateralism and sovereign equality of states.

At the same time, consultations on creation of the Academic centre of peace, neutrality and preventive diplomacy will be carried out at the department of peace and neutrality of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a view of practical realisation of the proposal of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to establish the University of Peace and Neutrality.

Turkmenistan also initiates development of the International code on peaceful use of artificial intelligence in the international relations and diplomacy under the aegis of the United Nations with the holding of the dialogue of digital trust in Ashgabat.

With a view of the further comprehensive support to the activity of the Un Regional centre for preventive diplomacy for Central Asia, our country will propose the next draft resolution "The Role of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia" for consideration of the General Assembly.

Turkmenistan, which becomes one of the leading centres of transport diplomacy, will continue work on creation of the Global atlas of sustainable transport connectivity as the universal analytical and information tool for monitoring realisation of the goals of the Decade of sustainable transport of the United Nations for 2026-2035.

Our country will also continue active participation in implementation of the Avaza program of actions for 2024-2034 and the Avaza political declaration.

At the same time, it will propose to consider a possibility of creation of the International centre for sustainable trading logistics and customs cooperation and the transregional transport corridor connecting South and Central Asia with Europe through the Caspian sea in the territory of Turkmenistan under the aegis of the United Nations.

Our country will suggest establishing the Ashgabat climatic dialogue - a new multilateral platform of interaction for advancement of the initiatives connected with climate change and development of international partnership on an institutional basis.

Besides it, Turkmenistan will propose the strengthening of climatic stability of the regions that experience difficulties due to drought and deficiency of water.

With a view of fulfilment of positions of the Resolution «The key role of reliable and stable energy connectivity in maintenance of sustainable development» consultations on preparation for a high level forum «Stable energy for all» will be carried out.

Giving particular attention to issues of development of the dialogue of women and the youth policy, Turkmenistan will provide the further advancement of the Dialogue of Women of Central Asia and expansion of cooperation with the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission and structure "United Nations-Women" within the agenda «Women, peace and safety».

Besides it, the work on increase of activity of the youth in the international relations and peace initiatives will proceed, and the activity of the Dialogue of the youth of Central Asia will be supported widely.

In connection with the proposal put forward by Turkmenistan on the announcement of 2028 as Year of international law, it will be proposed to hold the International forum devoted to interrelation of international law, disarmament, neutrality, preventive diplomacy and sustainable development in our country.

Turkmenistan will also continue the vigorous activity as a member of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations Organization (ECOSOC) for 2026-2028, and other structural divisions and the United Nations commissions.

Along with it, the preparation work on election of our country during the 81^st session of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization as non-permanent member of the Security Council of the United Nations for 2031-2032 and to other elective bodies of the United Nations is carried out.

Priority positions of Turkmenistan at the regular session of the General Assembly are expected to send to the United Nations Secretary, and to disseminate among United Nations member countries, to place the information on the content of the document in the national and international mass media.

On July 24, the telephone conversation between National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took place.

During the conversation, Hero-Arkadag wished the head of the friendly country happy birthday and sound health, long life, inexhaustible energy and successes in his responsible state activity and conveyed warm greetings and sincere congratulations from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Having noted a high level of the Turkmen-Uzbek relations, the National Leader of the Turkmen people sounded a number of new initiatives aimed at expansion of strategic partnership.

Hero-Arkadag suggested to start a joint work over the project «Industrial-technological belt», providing creation of the hi-tech centres on release of competitive export oriented goods and intellectual production for the world market. The National Leader of the Turkmen people also stated expediency of creation of a transport and logistics centre on the border of two states, which would become a large transit corridor in the East-West route. Besides it, as a new format of interstate cooperation in the future creation of the Supreme Council "Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan" was mentioned.

The past week in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the next meeting of the National commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, in which issues of interaction within this specialised establishment of the United Nations were considered, was held and plans on promotion of fruitful cooperation were outlined.

At the same time, it was noticed that for inclusion of three values of national heritage corresponding documents were prepared and presented to regional and international lists of UNESCO from the beginning of the current year.

So, in the List of intangible cultural heritage of humanity of UNESCO the centuries-old traditions of national medicine connected with local medicinal endemic plants and national art of manufacturing and tradition of wearing the takhya were nominated. The manuscript devoted to the life and philosophy of the famous scientist and Sufi thinker of VIII century Ibragim Edhem stored in the fund of hand-written manuscripts of the country was nominated for inclusion in the Asian-Pacific Regional List of the Program of UNESCO «World Memory».

The past week, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting of the Inter-departmental Commission on the Implementation of International Obligations of Turkmenistan on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law was held and it discussed and summed up the work for the first half of the year 2026.

In the country, admission into the higher and secondary professional educational institutions proceeds.

This year, over 18 thousand young men and girls will become first-year students of higher educational institutions. As compared with 2025, the enrolment quota was increased by 1239 students at the expense of introduction of new specialities in a number of higher educational establishments. Besides it, new specialities have appeared in secondary professional educational institutions as well.

Representatives of Turkmenistan received special memorable signs, having successfully performed at the song and musical festival « «Cultural Journey along the Great Silk Road with the Song ‘Arirang’» which was held in frameworks of the International Days of Friendship in the Republic of Korea.

The main events of the past week, which serve as a bright acknowledgement of the goal of the policy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for expansion of meaningful dialogue with the world community and economic cooperation, consolidation of good-neighbourhood links for universal peace, progress and prosperity.
