Today, the Arkadag City Hall hosted a celebratory forum, “Arkadag şäheri – röwşen geljegiň aýdyň ýoly”, dedicated to the third anniversary of the opening of the modern-era “smart” city, created at the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen People and under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The conference was attended by leaders and employees of the Arkadag State Construction Committee under the President of Turkmenistan, the city hall, city enterprises and institutions, honorary elders, and gray-haired mothers.

The forum was preceded by an exhibition organized in the spacious foyer of the Arkadag City Hall. Various products and developments were on display. The attendees’ attention was drawn to the stands displaying international awards honoring the smart city.

At the beginning of the conference, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s address to the residents of Arkadag was read. It emphasized that the celebration of the third anniversary of Arkadag, a model of modern architecture, is a significant event in the political, social, and cultural life of our country.

As noted in an Address of the head of state, Arkadag city, renowned worldwide for its unique beauty, advanced technologies, and distinctive national architecture, symbolizes our country’s economic prosperity, its high prestige, and the welfare of its people. This is clearly demonstrated by the fact that over the past three years, Arkadag city has received prestigious international certificates and awards for its high performance in urban development programs, innovative potential, and environmental performance.

The Address was listened with great attention and met with thunderous, prolonged applause.

Speakers warmly congratulated the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag, as well as the forum participants, on the third anniversary of the opening of Arkadag city, the only “smart” city in the country and the region. They also wished Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar sound health, longevity, and continued success in their ambitious endeavors. They also expressed confidence that Arkadag, a symbol of our bright future, will continue to glorify the honor of our sovereign Fatherland, which is confidently advancing toward the heights of prosperity and well-being.

The best wishes and good news conveyed to forum participants enhanced the significance of this significant date and became a reason for a double celebration. Today, the farmers of Ahal velayat, having grown a bountiful wheat harvest, successfully fulfilled their contractual obligations. Enthusiastic at this good news, those gathered expressed their deep gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero-Arkadag for the conditions they have created for fruitful work.

As emphasized in the speeches, the unique urban development project of Arkadag city, which, according to the relevant law, has the special legal status of a city of national significance, is a concrete result of the large-scale reforms initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and now being successfully implemented under the leadership of Hero Arkadagly Serdar.

Built on ancient soil, the city is a wonderful example of a smart city project, incorporating cutting-edge digital, information and communication, and green technologies. It harmoniously blends the best traditions of national architecture with modern trends in urban development and design. Various infrastructure facilities, meeting international standards, including environmental sustainability, ensure comfortable and favorable conditions for residents.

As is known, according to the “Concept for the Development of Arkadag City in 2024–2052”, construction of the second phase of the smart city is proceeding rapidly. This will include the commissioning of not only social facilities but also manufacturing enterprises that will form a modern industrial complex. Among the social facilities, a children’s park, a mosque, and others are noteworthy.

The recent initiative put forward by elders, in response to numerous suggestions from Turkmen citizens, to name the modern mosque being built in the city “Arkadagyň ruhy metjidi”, testifies to the worthy continuation of the ancient traditions of our people. In this regard, forum participants expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar.

Arkadag city, the first “smart” city in the country’s history, has become a center of charitable activity. The events held here to mark the fifth anniversary of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship were marked by major celebrations imbued with profound meaning.

The presentations draw attention that 336 modern structures have been commissioned as part of the first phase of construction in Arkadag city, including two- and multi-story residential buildings, public, educational, medical, and cultural facilities, sports centers, and utility systems.

The environmentally friendly “smart” city of Arkadag boasts electric buses and cars, as well as smart parking systems. Local media outlets, including a television channel and newspaper, are also active. As noted, the Arkadag football team’s success in national and international competitions is a source of pride for our people.

Arkadag city has a multi-layered road and transport infrastructure. Wide avenues are equipped with modern street lighting, video surveillance, and control systems.

The introduction of a fiber-optic network in the new city allows residents to enjoy high-speed internet. 5G technology, providing high-quality cellular communications, has been implemented here.

Since the first day of the city’s foundation, Hero-Arkadag has kept the progress of construction under constant review. During each working visit to the new city, the National Leader of the Turkmen people thoroughly inspects the work underway at key construction sites. Hero-Arkadag’s valuable advice regarding the operational features of the facilities, their reliability, safety, and exterior design serves as a guide for designers, architects, and builders.

It is a source of great pride that the streets, avenues, and institutions of Arkadag city have been named after prominent figures of our people. In this context, it was noted that one of the avenues is named Ahalteke atlar, having regard to this area is considered as the birthplace of the Ahalteke horse.

It was also emphasized that the monument to Ahalteke horse Akhan, whose name is listed in the Guinness Book of Records, as well as the “Taychanak” monument, serve as clear evidence of the nation’s love for the renowned racehorses.

As noted, the phased, well-thought-out implementation of the urban development concept in our country is the foundation of the economic strength of the Turkmen state, the cultural and spiritual life of society, the realization of intellectual potential, and the creation of conditions for the people’s well-being. Based on this, large-scale reforms are being implemented in the new historical era.

Finally, an Address to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag, was adopted on behalf of the forum participants.

The conference included speeches by cultural figures and artists. The inspired songs and musical compositions, which heightened pride in the modern era of our peace-loving nation, confidently advancing to new heights of progress thanks to the initiatives of Hero-Arkadag and under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, became an expression of heartfelt gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people.

Then, a celebratory sadaqah was held at the Markaw Cultural and Entertainment Center to mark the third anniversary of the opening of Arkadag city and the unanimous support for the proposal to name the new modern mosque, designed for 30,000 people and being built in the city at the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, “Arkadagyň ruhy metjidi”.

A prayer service was recited during the sadaqah. At the end of the ritual meal, the ayat-tovir was recited, prayers were offered for the well-being of the Fatherland, the unity of the people, and abundance and prosperity of the dastarkhans. Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar were also wished good health, longevity, and success in public affairs for the sake of the Motherland’s bright future.

During the celebrations and various events held throughout the city to mark the third anniversary of the opening of Arkadag city, creative groups demonstrated their skills by performing inspiring songs and melodies.
