As part of his visit to the Republic of Austria, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag had a meeting with United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Rabab Fatima.

Expressing gratitude for the time devoted to the meeting and taking the opportunity to convey to Hero-Arkadag warm greetings from UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Rabab Fatima emphasized the role of Turkmenistan’s policy of positive neutrality in ensuring peace and sustainable development.

As was noted, the important initiatives put forward by Hero-Arkadag at the International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum are closely linked with the key goals and objectives of the United Nations, above all with ensuring global peace, stability and security, as well as achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Warmly welcoming Rabab Fatima and conveying his best wishes in return to the UN Secretary-General, Hero-Arkadag stressed that Turkmenistan consistently develops multifaceted cooperation with authoritative international organizations, in particular with the United Nations and its specialized agencies.

During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on the importance of Turkmenistan’s many years of broad-based cooperation with the United Nations and its specialized structures.

In this context, the significance of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which was held in August 2025 in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, was noted.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero-Arkadag, confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation with the United Nations and its specialized agencies, and wished United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Rabab Fatima good health, well-being and success in her responsible work.
