The President of Turkmenistan, who is keen on various sports, regards Akhalteke racers with special reverence, being very fond of horse riding. This day also, the head of state has had riding on Bayramhan horse in a riding hall of the Akhalteke Horse-Breeding Complex. During the first days of 2017, which has been declared the Year of Health and Inspiration in our country, a foal was born in this Horse-Breeding Complex that was called Ruhubelent by the President of Turkmenistan. Now the foal is one month old. It has remarkably grown, and feels fine, judging by the way it sprightly gallops and jumps in the stables. Following the ancient custom of the Turkmen people the head of state tied an amulet-alaja on neck of the foal, and expressed confidence that Ruhubelent will occupy its rightful place in the Turkmen equestrian sports, contributing to raising the world fame of Akhalteke breed. As President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov emphasized, the ‘heavenly” horses are our invaluable heritage which is unique in the whole world. Being a phenomenon of national and world culture, the “heavenly” horses have been for centuries a source of inspiration for poets and artists, having attracted the attention of world known scientists and breeders. Today, the Akhalteke racers successfully perform at international circus festivals and equestrian competitions. On the Turkmen leader’s initiative, one of the equestrian sports (show jumping) has been included in the program of the Asian Games 2017.
