Today, in the northern region of the country, a ceremony was held to award a cash prize of 1 million USA dollars to the Koneurgench etrap, which achieved the best performance by the end of 2025. The solemn event was organised in the town of Bitaraplyk, which was opened in the International year of peace and trust.
As noted at the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on the 13th of February, the motto of the President of Turkmenistan is «The Motherland is the Motherland only with the people! The state is a state only with the people!», becoming a worthy continuation of the principle of the Hero-Arkadag «The State is for man!», opened the way for large–scale transformations, the realisation of great undertakings in the name of the well-being of the Turkmen people. Our close-knit people, who live a happy life in a wonderful epoch, are sincerely proud of the remarkable achievements and high achievements achieved by their native Homeland, which is developing with the speed of a steed. The annual announcement of a competition among etraps and cities with etraps rights to achieve the best performance has already become a good tradition.
According to the relevant Decree of the head of state, the relevant Commission has taken measures in accordance with the established procedure to identify the etrap that has achieved the highest results in social, economic and cultural indicators over the past year. Based on the results of the work done, the Koneurgench etrap of Dashoguz velayat was declared the best etrap of the country in 2025 – the International year of peace and trust.
During the aforementioned Government meeting, the head of state signed orders awarding the winning hakimlik of etrap with a cash prize of 1 million USA dollars and announcing another competition to achieve the best results in all social, economic and cultural indicators in the velayats and the city of Ashgabat by the end of 2026.
The current event has inspired residents of the northern region of the country to new labour achievements in the year declared «Independent neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses». It is noteworthy that the celebratory event was held in the town of Bitaraplyk, whose name enshrines the ideological message of the International year of peace and trust, marking the 30th anniversary of neutrality of the country.
The ceremony, which took place on the square in front of the House of culture of the town, was attended by numerous residents, heads of local government bodies, and regional public organisations. The action inherent in the national celebration unfolded around the «ak oy» yurt installed here. The participants of the event also got acquainted with the organised exhibition of national values, works of art reflecting a happy epoch marked by glorious events. The solemn atmosphere was enhanced by musical and song performances, inspiringly performed by masters of culture and arts, as well as bagshy-storytellers.
The event continued in the meeting room of the House of culture. The audience listened with great attention to the Address of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the residents of the Koneurgench etrap of Dashoguz velayat, who achieved the highest results in all social, economic and cultural indicators by the end of 2025. In his congratulatory message, the Head of state expressed his firm confidence that the workers of the Koneurgench etrap will continue to work hard for the further prosperity of our independent, permanently neutral state. The President of the country emphasised: «Following the instructions of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag: «For a person, love for the Motherland is the highest manifestation of this feeling. It is sacred. Love for the Motherland brightens up existence. There is nothing more sacred and valuable for a person than the Motherland», it is our sacred duty to love the Motherland and continue to achieve high success».
As the speakers noted, as a result of the large-scale reforms being carried out in the country, tasks in the field of integrated regional development, diversification of the export sector of the economy, the introduction of digital technologies covering all areas to increase industrial and agricultural production, as well as maintaining food abundance are being successfully solved. During the ceremony, on behalf of the residents of etrap, sincere gratitude was expressed to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his tireless concern for improving the well-being of citizens and great attention to strengthening the economic power of the Motherland, creating modern socio-economic infrastructure in the regions.
It was emphasised that thanks to the successful implementation under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar of the reforms initiated by Hero-Arkadag for the development of villages, towns and etrap centres, today, in the era of the Revival of the new era of the powerful state, the city of Koneurgench and the etrap of the same name are developing dynamically. Nowadays, the appearance of the villages and towns of etrap, on the territory of which historical and cultural monuments included in the UNESCO World Heritage List are located, has radically changed. New settlements are also being formed here. A clear proof of this is the modern town of Bitaralyk, which was inaugurated in September last year. On its territory there are 400 modern one- and two-storey cottage-type residential buildings, an administrative building of the geneshlik, a Health centre, and other industrial facilities. The town also has a kindergarten with 160 places and a secondary school with 420 places, which provide everything necessary for the younger generation to receive high-quality modern education, harmonious spiritual and physical development of children. In addition, there is a 200-seat House of culture, a 500-seat celebration centre, a Household house, a communications office, and a fire safety service station. There is also a park on the territory of the town. There is also a shopping centre in the town.
And today, a solemn atmosphere reigns once again in the town of Bitaraplyk. It should be noted that since ancient times our glorious ancestors have grown various types of crops in the northern region. The workers of the Kunyaurgench etrap, who now continue ancient agricultural traditions, make a significant contribution to the development of agriculture and animal husbandry, increasing crop yields and production volumes. Etrap entrepreneurs also make their contribution: mastering best practices in the field of production and effectively using preferential conditions provided by the state, they create new production complexes, provide the local population with the necessary products in sufficient volume and contribute to increasing the export potential of the country. As noted, the achievements of the etrap residents are the visible result of the concern of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the head of state for the comprehensive development of the regions of our Motherland. In this regard, the speakers expressed their sincere gratitude to Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for the conditions created.
The participants of the celebration, congratulating the residents of etrap on their well-deserved victory in the competition, expressed confidence that the award presented to etrap would inspire them to new work achievements.
The participants accepted a letter of thanks to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in which they expressed great gratitude to the head of state for appreciating their contribution to the dynamic socio-economic development of the Motherland.
The ceremony ended with musical and song dedications to the current happy epoch. On the occasion of the significant event, a festive sadaka was given at the celebration centre «Köneürgenç» in the town of Bitaraplyk.
