Ashgabat, February 9 (TDH). Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev and regional hyakims to consider the development of the agricultural sector and the progress of work in the country’s regions.

The floor was given first to Ahal Velayat Hyakim T. Nurmyradov, who reported on the progress of the ongoing seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region.

As reported, the wheat fields in the velayat are currently undergoing appropriate maintenance, including the application of mineral fertilizers.

In preparation for this year’s sowing campaign, land leveling, harrowing, and the application of mineral fertilizers are ongoing.

To provide cotton farmers with high-quality seeds, necessary steps are being taken to prepare cotton seeds, as well as to repair, adjust, and properly store agricultural machinery and equipment that will be used in sowing.

At the same time, appropriate measures are being taken to plowing and leveling areas for food crops. Seeds for these crops are also being prepared for the spring sowing season.

Furthermore, the hyakim reported on the progress of construction of social, cultural, and industrial facilities scheduled for commissioning in the velayat this year.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of strict adherence to agricultural standards during seasonal agricultural work, particularly in wheat care and field preparation for sowing, giving the hyakim specific instructions in this regard.

The head of state also ordered that the timely and high-quality completion of work planned for the current year in the region in accordance with the country’s socio-economic development programs be monitored.

Then, the hyakim of Balkan velayat, H. Ashyrmyradov, reported on the progress of agricultural campaigns in the region.

As reported, wheat fields are currently being tended in accordance with agricultural practices, including the application of mineral fertilizers.

Leveling and harrowing work is underway in areas allocated for cotton. Seed preparation for cotton producers and the adjustment of agricultural machinery for the spring sowing campaign are also underway.

At the same time, appropriate measures are being taken to prepare fields and seed potato, vegetable, and melon crops for the spring sowing season.

The hyakim also reported on the status of construction work at facilities scheduled to open in the velayat this year.

Summarizing the report, the head of state noted the importance of timely and high-quality seasonal agricultural work on the velayat’s agricultural lands, issuing a number of relevant instructions to the hyakim.

The President of Turkmenistan also ordered that the high-quality and timely completion of construction work at various facilities scheduled for commissioning this year as part of the country’s ongoing socio-economic development programs be monitored.

The hyakim of Dashoguz velayat D. Babayev then reported on the state of the region’s agricultural sector.

It was noted that in areas allocated for cotton sowing, land leveling and soil enrichment with mineral fertilizers are being systematically carried out in order to lay the foundation for this year’s harvest. In addition, necessary measures are being taken to prepare high-quality cotton seeds suitable for the region’s soil and climate conditions, as well as to ensure the proper operating condition of agricultural machinery and equipment for the upcoming season.

To further increase food crop production in Turkmenistan, plowing, land leveling, and seed preparation for planting continue in the region’s fields.

The hyakim also reported on the progress of construction projects scheduled for commissioning this year in accordance with the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022-2028” and the National Rural Program.

After hearing the report, the head of state noted that adherence to agricultural standards facilitates increased crop yields and the quality of agricultural products, giving the hyakim relevant instructions in this regard.

At the same time, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed that the quality of work planned for this year in the velayat, in accordance with the country’s socio-economic development programs, be monitored.

Next, the hyakim of Lebap velayat, D. Genjiev, reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural work in his region.

As reported, in order to further strengthen food abundance in the country and fully provide the population with grain, mineral fertilizers and vegetation irrigation are currently being applied to the wheat fields.

Plowing is in the final stages of the harvest in the areas allocated for this year’s cotton harvest. Land leveling, harrowing, and irrigation continue in an organized manner. At the same time, necessary measures are being taken to prepare high-quality cotton seeds, as well as agricultural machinery and equipment, for the upcoming sowing season.

Furthermore, areas for spring potato and vegetable and melon crops, as well as seed material, have been fully prepared for the sowing season.

In addition, a report was presented on the status of construction projects scheduled for commissioning in the velayat this year, based on the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022-2028” and the National Rural Program.

Summarizing the report and emphasizing that adherence to scientifically sound agricultural practices is a key condition for effective agricultural management, the head of state gave the hyakim the relevant instructions.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also ordered that timely and high-quality construction work on projects scheduled for opening in the region this year be monitored.

Next, the hyakim of Mary velayat, D. Annaberdiyev, reported on the progress of ongoing agricultural work in the region.

It was noted that mineral fertilizers and vegetation irrigation are currently being applied to the velayat’s wheat fields in accordance with agricultural practices.

With the aim of preparation for cotton sowing, the land is being plowing, leveling, and harrowing. Appropriate measures are also being taken to ensure cotton growers have a full supply of high-quality seeds and to maintain the equipment that will be used in the spring sowing campaign.

Along with this, work is underway to prepare the land and seeds for planting potatoes, vegetables, and melons. Machinery and equipment are also being adjusted for the upcoming sowing season.

At the same time, necessary measures are being taken to harvest and process the sugar beet crop grown in the velayat.

A report was also presented on the status of construction projects underway in the velayat, scheduled to open this year in accordance with the National Rural Program.

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov identified ensuring adequate wheat care and preparation for the spring sowing season within the specified agronomic timeframe as a priority. Specific instructions were given to the hyakim in this regard.

The head of state also instructed that the quality of construction work at various facilities scheduled for commissioning this year be monitored in accordance with Turkmenistan’s socio-economic development programs.

As reported, mineral fertilizers are being applied to wheat fields in the velayats in accordance with agricultural standards.

To lay the foundation for this year’s cotton harvest, lands allocated for sowing this valuable industrial crop are being leveled, harrowed, and irrigated.

At the same time, high-quality seeds are being prepared for cotton producers.

Based on the objectives set by the head of state to further increase the production of potatoes, vegetables, melons, and other food crops to fully provide the population with these products, land plowing and leveling are underway in the regions, as well as seed preparation for spring sowing.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the important role of the agricultural sector in the national economy, emphasizing that the quality of agricultural produce directly depends on compliance with agricultural standards. Noting that this is a mandatory requirement for wheat cultivation and land preparation for the planting season, the head of state addressed specific instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister.

Then, addressing the participants of the working meeting, the President of Turkmenistan again emphasized the importance of the current agricultural campaigns. In this regard, the head of state gave instructions on the proper implementation of agricultural practices for leveling and harrowing land in areas allocated for cotton cultivation, flushing irrigation in Lebap velayat, the timely provision of cotton producers with sufficient high-quality seed, the proper preparation of agricultural machinery and equipment for spring sowing, the maintenance of wheat fields in the velayats, and the application of additional fertilizers within the appropriate agronomic timeframes. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also instructed that land and seed preparation for the spring sowing of potatoes, vegetables, and melons be carried out promptly and efficiently.

Furthermore, the head of state ordered strict oversight of the sugar beet harvest in Mary velayat, as well as payments between regional wheat and cotton producers and service agencies and enterprises for completed work.

At the same time, instructions were given to take the necessary measures to ensure the timely and high-quality completion of work on socio-cultural and industrial facilities under construction in the velayats.
