The past week ensured new evidence of systematic advancement of Turkmenistan on the path of progress and creation. Thanks to the progressive policy initiated National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Hero-Arkadag and consistently realised under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov a large-scale work is carried out to develop all branches and increases the well-being of population.

On January 12, the President of Turkmenistan held a working meeting, at which issues of agro-industrial sector of the country and work carried out in regions were considered.

As was informed, due care of the wheat fields is provided according to agro-technical standards in velayats.

Within preparation for cotton sowing, ploughing, levelling, harrowing of fields are carried out. For maintenance of manufacturers with high-quality seeds, ginneries take proper measures to process cotton, select seed material and store them appropriately until the start of the sowing campaign.

Necessary measures are also taken to prepare the agricultural machinery for the forthcoming season and fields and seeds are also prepared for sowing of spring potato and vegetables and gourds.

The head of the state underlined the significance of current seasonal agricultural activities and their conduction according to requirements of agro-technical standards.

As was marked, one should give special attention to supply of cotton growers with high-quality seed material, preparation of agricultural machinery and equipment for the forthcoming sowing campaign, due care of wheat fields, and gathering of sugar beet in Mary velayat. In addition, one should take corresponding measures for the well-organised conduction of spring sowing of potato, vegetable and gourd crops.

The President of Turkmenistan instructed related authorities to provide due control over timely settlement of accounts with cotton and wheat growers, service organisations and enterprises in regions for work on harvest of cotton, wheat and rice in Lebap velayats and sugar beet in Mary velayat. It is also necessary to carry out properly work for cleaning of territories, irrigating and collection-drainage systems, preparation of agricultural fields of regions for the spring season.

Besides it, the head of the state instructed to hold in the centre of attention issues of appropriate functioning of systems of heating in apartment houses, schools and kindergartens, maintenance of population of velayats with electric power, natural gas and potable water and strict control over the course of construction of industrial, social and cultural projects in regions.

Khyakimliks of velayats also received a large batch of modern specialized motor transport units and equipment for municipal services departments the past week.

They included machinery for extraction of waste waters, cleaning of sewer systems, road sweepers, garbage trucks and corresponding containers, crushing vehicles for wood processing, 25-ton trucks, water carriers, hydraulic hoists, mobile repair shops, special heavy trailers, various loaders, wheel excavators, equipment for trees planting and linkage mounted specialised machinery.

Acquisition of modern hi-tech municipal services vehicles provides a high degree of quality and cultures of work. Therefore, in independent neutral Turkmenistan under the leadership of the head of the state due activity is carried out in this sphere on the basis of modern scientific and technical methods. The special equipment bought from abroad adapts taking into account the natural and environmental conditions of the country. Such requirements allow providing as much as possible long, reliable and effective operation. The appropriate organisation of work of municipal and other profile services, development of qualitative sanitary and accomplishment in populated areas, productive use of corresponding powerful technics in branch structure is an important requirement of the present, and maintenance of healthy ecological condition of the city - a paramount task.

On January 15, the election campaign officially started. The planned schedule of actions for its preparation and conduction as approved at the meeting of the Central commission for elections and referenda in Turkmenistan.

According to the resolution of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the voting will be held on March 29 of the current year. This day the election of members of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Altyn asyr etrap, of Akhal velayat, Garaşsyzlyk, Gubadag etraps of Dashoguz velayat, Dovletli, Farab, Garabekewul etraps of Lebap velayat, Oguzhan etrap of Mary velayat and in connection with the prescheduled expiry of the terms of powers of deputies of the Mejlis by election districts № 74 «Amyderya», № 79 «Darganata» of Lebap velayat, № 104 «Peşanaly» and № 106 «Wekil» of Mary velayat and members of velayat, etrap and city Khalk Maslakhaty offices and gengeshes will be held.

At the same time, issues of delimitation of election districts and sites were considered, the analysis of structure of operating district and local commissions was carried out.

During the meeting, reports of chairpersons of election committees of velayats and Ashgabat city were heard. Speakers underlined that in the new historical epoch under the leadership of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov the special attention is given to the further democratisation of society and maintenance of transparency of election procedures. Among paramount tasks participants of the meeting defined maintenance of transparency and wide alternativeness of elections, and conduction of appropriate explanatory work among the population. It was pointed out that forthcoming elections will become the next important step in realisation of large scale political reforms in the year, the motto of which is «Independent neutral Turkmenistan - the native land of purposeful winged racers».

On January 16, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the agenda of which included a number of issues of state life.

Discussed topics included the further perfection of national legislation, preparation for elections for bodies of local authorities and the deputy corps of the country, appointed for March 29 of this year.

At the meeting, issues of cooperation with the United Nations and its specialised establishments, expansions of trade and economic relations with states of the world, development of oil refining industry, supply of manufacturers of agricultural products by mineral fertilizers, perfection of activity of the sphere of culture, preparation of the qualified specialists were also considered.

So, Turkmenistan will host the Week of the United Nations Special Program for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA), in which an economic forum, sessions of profile working groups and bilateral meetings are planned. Its agenda will include issues of expansion of cooperation in the field of economy, energy and water resources, preservation of the environment, and increase of efficiency of energy and transport connectivity, perfection of digital trade and economic corridors with use of standards of the United Nations.

The Kenar storage and loading oil enterprise - one of the key structural links of TORC will undergo considerable modernisation. It will allow optimising reception, storage and shipment for the subsequent transportation of production of oil refining through railway and sea routes, and it is also essential to raise the transport-logistical potential of the country.

In Turkmenistan creation of the Interdepartmental working group for facilitation of procedures of trade is planned.

The new structure was created within fulfilment of the Framework Agreement on the Facilitation of. Cross-border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific, which our country has joined.

Having studied foreign practice, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan introduces a model by analogy of national committees, which already function in other states-participants of the Agreement.

Creation of such group will allow not only fulfilling tasks following from the international agreements, but also consistently to co-ordinate actions with the region and world countries in the field.

As was informed at the meeting , a regular work on the organisation of activity of the given sphere today proceeds in combination with realities of the time, its modernisation of material, technical and legislative basis, and study, popularization of cultural heritage, development of tourism and expansion of international partnership in the field of culture. Curricula and programs of profile educational institutions, methods of organisation of study are improved regularly according to requirements of the present. Necessary measures are also taken to replenish funds of museums of the country and introduce the digital system in their work.

At the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree, according to which quotas of admission of post-graduate students into postgraduate courses in science fields, scientific degrees and clinical internship in research establishments and higher educational institutions for 2026 were approved.

The document was signed with a view of scientific substantiation of cardinal reforms carried out in Turkmenistan in the Era of Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, large-scale introduction of scientific achievements in economy and in all spheres, and training in of highly skilled specialists and research personnel.

For consideration of the head of the state, the proposal on perfection of activity of the Protocol service of Turkmenistan was submitted.

As was marked, our country consistently increases mutually beneficial relations with different states and international organisations. In Turkmenistan official top-level visits, large international forums and multilateral meetings for discussion of issues of political, economic, cultural and other cooperation are organised.

All it demands a high level of organizational and legal maintenance answering to the international standards and practice of diplomatic protocol. For improvement of professional skill of young employees of the foreign service of the country, specialised courses on the basis of educational centre "Diplomatic protocol" at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be organised.

With a view of exchange of experience, it is planned to send protocol officials of Turkmenistan for foreign courses and to invite foreign profile specialists to our country for conduction of short-term courses.

At the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also approved the proposal on modernisation of the Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi railway.

The strategically important railway connects various corners of the country with the International seaport of Turkmenbashi and acts as a key link in coordination of national railways with international transport corridors «Lapis Lazuli», TRACECA, North-South and East-West. Complex modernisation will promote the further development of transport-logistic system of Turkmenistan, strengthening of its transit potential and increase its position in the international transport corridors.

On January 17, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Ahalteke horse complex of the President of Turkmenistan where he familiarised with the course of preparation for the National holiday of Turkmen horse.

The basic attention was given to issues of modernisation of the complex and accomplishment of its territory, decor of premises, use of the advanced methods at highway reconstruction, maintenance of appropriate ecological level in this corner and favourable microclimate for Ahalteke racers.

The large-scale program of actions, in which the motto of this year «Independent neutral Turkmenistan - the native land of purposeful winged racers» will find due reflexion, is prepared for the forthcoming holiday.

Thus, events of the past week once again attested to the success of the policy implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and aimed at maintenance of peace and sustainable development in global dimension, economic progress of our fatherland, increase of standards of living of our people, careful preservation of national historical and cultural heritage, wide international cooperation with all interested states.
