Today, the final of the singing contest “Ýylyň parlak ýyldyzy” was held at the Alp Arslan National Drama Theatre of Turkmenistan. The competition has traditionally become one of the brightest events in the pre-New Year festive program.
As is well known, thanks to the state policy initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and consistently implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, large-scale efforts are being carried out to develop culture and the arts. All necessary conditions are being created for the creative growth of young people and the realization of their potential. Even in the most remote corners of the country, cultural centers and concert venues have been built, where performances by participants of the vocal competition are held.
Unique projects contribute to introducing young talents to the invaluable spiritual treasury of the nation and its rich musical culture. The network of specialized schools is expanding, and new departments are being opened in specialized educational institutions. At the same time, special importance is attached to the annual holding of creative competitions, including the traditional contest “Türkmeniň Altyn asyry” announced by the President of Turkmenistan among workers of literature, culture and art, amateur young singers, as well as talented children
Within its framework, the competition “Ýylyň parlak ýyldyzy” is also held. It stimulates the creative activity and initiative of young performers, helps to identify and support new talents, promotes their professional growth and the development of modern national music. The head of the Turkmen state attaches great importance to the harmonious spiritual, moral, cultural, intellectual and physical development of the younger generation, which represents a powerful force and the happy future of the Motherland.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture jointly with the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography and the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, the competition this year brought together talented young vocalists and pop performers from all regions of Turkmenistan, as well as from the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, aged 17 to 35, who wished to demonstrate their skills before a large audience.
It should be noted that in this creative marathon, which took place in several qualifying rounds at the velayat level, young talents participated who received the majority of votes from television viewers and radio listeners during the preliminary selection. From among the contenders, an authoritative jury selected the most promising candidates distinguished by their vocal and artistic qualities, who had won the audience’s affection and received the highest number of votes. Many of them already have experience performing at various festivals held in Turkmenistan.
Then the final stage began, the results of which directly depended on the audience. The finalists included both singers already familiar to the public—soloists of concert organizations and ensembles, participants of amateur artistic groups of various universities—as well as original talents who appeared before a wide audience for the first time. The brightest and most talented artists received tickets to the next stage of the competition and the opportunity to perform on the TV and radio channel “Türkmen owazy.”
Now it remained to determine the winner of the Grand Prix of the competition. Esteemed professionals of the musical stage joined this process.
The judges in this case were television viewers and radio listeners, who evaluated the contestants’ skills by casting their votes for a particular performer through SMS voting and telephone calls. The involvement of a wide audience ensured the participation in the final of the brightest representatives of the pop music genre—ten of the best were selected for the concluding round.
As members of the jury, leading soloists of the Turkmen stage, laureates of previous years’ competitions, as well as cultural figures, composers and poets gathered at the final concert to evaluate the performances of their young colleagues and add their votes to those already received.
The contestants, fully aware of the responsibility of the moment—which could play a significant role in their future careers—and striving to justify the hopes of their supporters, sought to demonstrate all their abilities while performing on the festively decorated stage. At this stage, in addition to vocal qualities, they also had to demonstrate stage charm, which is essential for achieving success.
According to the rules of the “Ýylyň parlak ýyldyzy” competition, the vocalists performed two songs, one of them without musical accompaniment, so that professionals could fully assess the purity and beauty of each voice. This challenge made it possible to highlight the artistic talent of the young singers and their ability to establish emotional contact with the audience. In this case, the accompaniment consisted of friendly applause and the benevolent support of the audience. Songs of various genres were performed—modern pop and ancient folk songs, lyrical and patriotic compositions.
The musical rivalry lasted for several hours. The competition resembled a friendly gathering where everyone supported one another, sincerely wishing success. Stormy ovations from fans accompanied the performance of each finalist. After their performances, well-known artists expressed their opinions and gave advice to their young colleagues. At the same time, the voting continued.
After counting the votes sent by viewers via SMS messages, an award ceremony was held, during which the hosts announced the results of the competition.
The winner of this creative marathon and the recipient of the main prize of the “Ýylyň parlak ýyldyzy” competition was Govkher Hojymyradova, who was presented with a rotating trophy and a valuable gift.
In addition to the Grand Prix, first, second and third places were also awarded. All laureates received certificates and commemorative gifts.
The wishes for creative growth, exploration and success voiced by the luminaries of the Turkmen musical stage and recognized masters of national art became a kind farewell and encouragement for the young artists. As was noted by the speakers, thanks to the active attention of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, young people of Turkmenistan today have all the opportunities for self-realization and revealing their abilities.
Inspired, emotional and joyful, the laureates of the competition assured that they would respond to such attention and support from the head of state with their own contribution to the development of Turkmen culture.
