Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov departed for a working visit to the United States of America to participate in the «Central Asia + USA» Summit.

The head of state was seen off by officials at the International airport of the capital.

In this new historical epoch, Turkmenistan, under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, is consistently implementing a foreign policy strategy based on the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness, and constructive cooperation, which continues the creative initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero Arkadag. Clear evidence of this is participation of the head of state  in the «Central Asia + USA» Summit at the invitation of President of the United States of America Donald Trump.

Turkmenistan and the USA have enjoyed a long-standing, friendly dialogue built on the principles of mutual respect and equality. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, cooperation between the two countries has steadily expanded, covering a wide range of areas, from political and economic to humanitarian cooperation.

Interstate political dialogue is regular and has demonstrated positive momentum. Annual bilateral political consultations serve as an effective platform for discussing priority issues of the Turkmen-American partnership and strengthening it. Highly appreciating neutral status  of Turkmenistan, recognised three times by the UN, the United States of America views it as a key factor in stability in the Central Asian region and a tool for preventive diplomacy.

Interstate relations are complemented by multilateral cooperation within the «Central Asia + USA» format. Within working groups of this format on economics, energy, and environmental protection, the parties are jointly developing new approaches to expanding regional partnerships and addressing common challenges.

Trade and economic cooperation occupy a special place on the cooperation agenda. The significant role of the «Turkmenistan–USA» business council, which has served as an effective mechanism for establishing bilateral contacts between business communities since 2008, is noteworthy.

In recent years, cooperation in the humanitarian field has also intensified, confirming commitment of both countries to expanding cultural and educational exchanges. The signing of a Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in education in 2023 laid a solid foundation for consistent work in this area.

…A few hours later, the plane of the President of Turkmenistan landed at «Andrews» International airport in Washington.

Here, the head of state was warmly welcomed by USA officials, as well as members of official delegation of our country.
