Continuing the course toward further democratization of the state and society, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov is emphasizing systemic, comprehensive, and rational approaches – these are the key distinguishing features of the profound reforms being implemented in Turkmenistan, aimed at comprehensively strengthening its economic power and ensuring a high standard of living for the population.

This convincingly demonstrates that Turkmenistan is increasingly becoming integrated into the international system, supporting every step it takes on the global political stage with new projects and concrete initiatives.

Turkmenistan’s multi-vector, peace-loving foreign policy is demonstrating its positive role in strengthening global peace, stability, and security in the Central Asian region and globally, and therefore deservedly enjoys the support of the international community and reputable international organizations.

These themes, one way or another, permeate the articles in the latest issue of the scientific and theoretical journal “Politics and Society”, published by the Archive Fund of the President of Turkmenistan of the Main Archives Department under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

Addressed to a wide range of readers, including high school students and teachers, university students and professors, graduate students, and political scientists, the publication reflects key aspects of multifaceted state policy. Its pages feature a broad and diverse range of informational, reference, analytical, and statistical materials.

The annual publication places particular emphasis on the essence and objectives of the fundamental reforms and democratic transformations initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and consistently implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. 

The cover of this issue features a photograph of the Abadançylyk Monument, symbolizing prosperity and peace. This 47-meter-tall structure is crowned with a stylized outline of the globe surrounded by white doves – messengers of peace, a symbolic reference to 2025, the year proclaimed by the UN General Assembly Resolution, at the initiative of our country, as the “International Year of Peace and Trust”.

Our country views this year, which marks two anniversaries – the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations – as an important period for the humanization of international relations. As noted in the articles, in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, independent neutral Turkmenistan, marked by historic transformations, is achieving high achievements in all areas, and our native Fatherland is rapidly and confidently moving forward. During the International Year of Peace and Trust, when the glorious 30th anniversary of the country’s permanent neutrality is widely celebrated, its international prestige is rising, and efforts aimed at strengthening political stability and unity are becoming more successful.

The status of permanent neutrality of our sovereign state further strengthens peace, mutual understanding, friendly and fraternal relations, and humanistic traditions. Our independent, neutral Fatherland is widely known worldwide for its large-scale state projects designed to accelerate its accession to the ranks of prosperous foreign countries.

This publication is a vivid testimony to the scale of the painstaking and talented scientific and literary work carried out by the head of Turkmenistan to scientifically study the cultural heritage and history of the Turkmen people, identify and restore ancient treasures, and preserve them for future generations. 

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s book “Magtymguly – Thinker of the World” has become a wonderful and invaluable gift for both the people of Turkmenistan and the general readership in anticipation of 2025, the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, and to conclude 2024, which was held under the motto “Fount of Wisdom – Magtymguly Fragi” to mark the 300th anniversary of the birth of this outstanding master of words. The work comprehensively reveals Magtymguly’s significance in the history of the Turkmen people and his work as a contribution to the golden treasury of world literature.

Published in late November 2024, “Jewel of the Mind” by Hero-Arkadag takes its rightful place among Arkadag’s previous remarkable works. The book tells the story of the glorious historical journey of the Turkmen people and the historical and cultural monuments preserved in the country, considered to be a priceless national heritage.

The poem by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, “Turkmenistan – Homeland of Peace and Trust”, which was dedicated to the declaration by the UN General Assembly Resolution, at the initiative of our country, of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, as well as the 30th anniversary of the permanent neutrality of the Fatherland, caused a great public outcry. 

A number of articles (“Turkmenistan’s Cultural Heritage”, “Turkmenistan’s cultural heritage is a national cultural heritage”, “Turkmenistan’s cultural heritage is a national cultural heritage”, and “Turkmenistan’s cultural heritage is a national cultural heritage”) are united by the theme of expanding the domestic cultural sphere, which is one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan’s policy, as the rich and distinctive heritage of our people is a holistic system of unique material and spiritual values, carefully passed down from generation to generation.

Other relevant topics covered in the publication include “Turkmenistan’s Agricultural Sector: Achievements and Development Prospects”.
