The regular issue of the quarterly popular scientific magazine “Miras” published by the Institute of Language, Literature and National manuscripts named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, was released out of print.

The magazine published in Turkmen, Russian and English languages is intended for the wide audience of readers. The regular issue continues a series of the publications devoted to new discoveries and results of researches in the sphere of historical, cultural, and spiritual heritage of our people, including manuscripts, issues of development of linguistics, literary study and historical sciences in the country.

The first pages of the issue contain the congratulatory messages of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to schoolchildren, students, teachers and workers of the education system of independent neutral Turkmenistan on the occasion of Day of Knowledge and Student Youth and the beginning of the new academic year 2025-2026 as well as welcoming messages of the head of the state to participants of the final round of the competition «Çalsana, bagşy!» held among dutar players, musicians-bagshy and Turkmen people on the occasion of Independence Day of our fatherland .

The traditional heading «New discoveries» opens with the publication of the leading researcher of the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts «Study of history of Turkmen language in years of independence». The author notes that the native language of people lives, as it is a key element of culture and spiritual heritage, which passes from generation to generation.

Language is not a just means of communication, but reflexion of mentality, history and traditions of people and a basis of its identity. Therefore, it is important to protect and develop the native language and keep a spiritual link with ancestors and provide continuity. Proceeding from it, in our neutral Turkmenistan during the period of independence many opportunities are created for deep scientific study of the history of Turkmen language, one of the most ancient languages of the world.

The author of the article «Neutrality of Turkmenistan: a sample of guarantee of general well-being» points out that on December 12, 1995, the General Assembly of the United Nations unanimously adopted the historical Resolution on recognition of the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan. For three decades, which have passed from that event, Turkmenistan has completely confirmed the adherence to principles of neutrality. The country actively advances the policy of peaceful disposition, friendship and humanitarian cooperation, offers new approaches in the international relations and uses its peace-making potential for general progress.

As known, the state external policy started by Hero-Arkadag and successfully carried out under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov based on principles of equality, mutual understanding, good neighbourhood and positive neutrality, in many respects defines the growing authority of Turkmenistan on the international scene. Hence, our fatherland keeping and transferring from generation to generation ability to live in peace goes forward for prosperity of the nation and humanity in close partnership with the United Nations, showing the philosophy and culture of the peace dialogue.

The material published in the same section under the title «Independence – an inspiring value for our development» speaks of the fact that the Turkmen people in years of sovereignty achieved tremendous successes in all areas of economy. In the modern epoch one of the priorities of the state policy pursued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov is all-round development of science and education for the further strengthening of technical and economic power of the country, augmentation of its mental potential, and well-being of people.

It is necessary to note, at scientific research institutes, higher educational institutions, other profile structures of the country all conditions are created for successful fundamental and applied researches, expansion of their range. Thus, a priority value is given to interrelation of science, education and manufacture. One of the main aspects of effective expansion of scientific sphere is the continuity and systematic replenishment of various areas of science by the talented youth, substantial growth of the number of erudite, gifted patriot scientists and specialists.

In this connection, the priority purpose of the policy in the sphere of education - creation of perfect system of training of the local personnel in the country, the qualification level of whom should correspond to high international requirements.

The section «Interaction of cultures and civilisations» begins with the article «Epos «Gorogly» and heroic dastans of poets-classics» in which it is underlined that dastans, narrations created on the basis of harmony, poetry and music are an important source of enrichment of human spirit and satisfaction of aesthetic requirements. They are the top of art of poetry, music and performance. Dastan - an epic genre famous from the XVIII century of Turkmen literature, representing transfer of various fantastic plots, national legends and stories of the love or heroic deeds.

“Yusuf and Zuleikha”, “Zokhre and Takhyr”, “Leili and Mezhnun” belong to the most famous dastans. Gradually legends were improved and begun to develop into eposes - "Oguznama", "Gorkut Ata", "Gorogly" which have become result of this development. The epos "Gorogly" - the legend of the cheerful, fair and resourceful warrior who struggles with oppressors together with his companions - brave nukers for honour and  freedom of their fatherland. This epic heritage of our people is the original moral code, which brings up today the Turkmen in the spirit of passionate love to the Native land.

The publication «Architectural design of Shahrislam” also draws attention of readers. Shahrislam is the historical and cultural monument located in 20 km to the north of the etrap centre of Baherden of Akhal velayat.  The medieval city was on the caravan route and became an important transit trading - craft centre. The city was surrounded by defensive walls, inside which there were caravans-serais, markets, sardobas, baths, pools, wells, and was equipped by water and sewer pipes, streets, and sanitary-repair constructions. Quarters of artisans were located separately behind fortifications, on the city suburb. During excavation the information on city structure and architecture of Shahrislam was discovered- the ruins of buildings showed that baked bricks were used in its construction. Skilful architects of the Middle Ages used various kinds of this material for decoration of walls.

In the article «School of thought of the Middle Ages of Oriental literature» one can read the interesting information on scientists and poets who brought a powerful contribution in cultural and spiritual development of Turkmen people and world science.

The great scientists who were born in our land, made discoveries and left the trace in the history - Farabi, Avicenna, Biruni, Khorezmi, Omar Khayyam, and also religious science - Hoja Yusup Hemedani, Hoja Ahmed Yasavi, Mohammed Ghazali, Nejmeddin Kubra, Bayezit Bistami, Bahaveddin Nagyshbendi, Omar ibn Suhraverd (Ashyk Aydyn Pir), Abu Sagit Abul Hayyr (Mane Baba).

As is underlined in the publication, each generation develops science and on the basis of spiritual and cultural heritage of the past centuries, acquires knowledge and life experience. The study of history and culture allows taking lessons from the past to acquire heritage, to change it and to enrich, bringing a considerable contribution to culture of the future. An overall objective of our classical Sufi literatures - preservation of cleanliness of human soul, achievement of spiritual perfection and education of the developed individual.

The edition comes to the end with the section «Chronicle of scientific and cultural life» where the review of events of public, scientific and cultural life independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan for July-September of this year - «The international year of peace and trust» is given. Here in a chronological order one can observe the progressive peace-making course and graphic evidences of socially focused grandiose transformations aimed at strengthening of the economic power and the further prosperity of our fatherland, well-being and happiness of Turkmen people, and international cooperation in the humanitarian sphere under the leadership of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The magazine is printed at a high polygraphic level, colourfully illustrated by reproductions of picturesque paintings and photos of modern workers of art, rare museum, archival materials and cartographical drawings.
