The past week was marked with the celebration of the 34th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan. This landmark date was widely celebrated on September 27 in our fatherland as an embodiment of unity and coherence of our people, its enormous creative potential and aiming at achievement of new heights.

Successful realization of grandiose undertakings and large-scale initiatives started by National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Hero-Arkadag by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov increases the authority of the country, which has turned into a powerful state with unique model of independent neutral development. The programs aimed at increase of standards of living of people, creation of competitive national economy as well as complex development of Turkmenistan are successfully carried out.

In the Era of Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, we continue to strengthen pillars of our independence and neutrality, confidently we lead our country to the great future. Therefore, we have a special respect for our sacred holiday - Independence Day, which is a symbol of our successes, progress and prosperity, as is marked in the congratulatory message of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to our people.

On the significant day - on September 27 - the head of the state took part in the solemn ceremony of flower laying at the Monument of Independence of Turkmenistan and in the festive parade, which took place in the capital on the square before the complex of the State tribune.

The review of the modern military technology, which has been obtained in recent years for all units of security structures, displayed a high level of defensibility and combat training of the National army.

Wonderful "heavenly" horses became a highlight of the parade. As a sign of sincere gratitude for shown care of well-being and happy life of our people, further prosperity of our land and on the occasion of the holiday, the head of the state on behalf of colleagues was presented as gift with the graceful Akhal-teke horse named Zamana.

Labor victories workers of all branches of national economy were devoted to the anniversary of sacred independence. Representatives of five velayats, various departments and branches, sportsmen, workers of culture and art took part in the colorful procession on the main square of the country.

Thanks to possibilities of modern digital technologies and telecommunications, our numerous compatriots and residents of foreign countries could share the festive mood of Turkmen nationals lively. 

In honor of the national holiday, which personifies a birth of the sovereign Turkmen state, in the capital Center of Congresses «Mejlisler merkezi» with participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov the concert of workers of culture and art took place. Its program differed with a variety of genres and premier numbers, which reflected the country’s achievements for years of independence, and peaceful life of Turkmen people.

According to the Decrees signed by the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country general Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the ceremony of awarding of high state awards, assignments of regular military and special ranks as well as class ranks to military men and law enforcement officers took place.

Celebrations with participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proceeded on September 28 in the Ashgabat equestrian sports complex.

There, the exhibition of fine, decorative and applied arts, devoted to legendary Akhal-teke horses was held, performances of actors and creative groups of the country took place.

The speed, playfulness, agility and endurance were displayed by magnificent, fleet-footed Akhal-teke horses in seven rounds of horseraces for various distances. In the final round for the distance of 2200 meters, there was a tough competition for the main prize founded by the President of Turkmenistan. The cream-colored horse Bezirgen of the Akhal-teke equestrian sports complex of the President of Turkmenistan was the first to reach the finish line with its master jockey B.Agamyradov.

There, in the equestrian sports complex, head of the state Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the president, CEO, and representative director of the Japanese company Toyo Engineering Corporation, Eiji Hosoi, who arrived in the country to participate in the celebrations..

During the meeting possibilities of promotion of partnership in oil and gas and chemical branches, perspective areas of cooperation were discussed.

The President of Turkmenistan also received Olivier Delumeau, head of IGNFI company, who arrived in the country to participate in the celebrations.

Issues of strengthening and expansion of mutually beneficial business cooperation in the agro-industrial complex sphere on a basis of digitization of branches, introduction of innovative expertize, such as precision farming and sustainable agronomy methods were discussed.

On the occasion of Independence Day, Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received numerous congratulations from heads of states, heads of authoritative international organizations and public figures in which they noted that the unique status of the country, allowed to achieve considerable successes in political, economic and social spheres, promotes augmentation of its authority on the world arena.

Initiatives of Turkmenistan to strengthen peace and trust on the planet receive support from the international community. Our state actively sets forward the solutions aimed at prevention of conflicts and support of relations with all interested countries. Efforts in the given area show adherence of Turkmenistan to principles of the United Nations and its position as a reliable partner of this Organization in achievement of global goals.

On September 23 within his working visit to the United States of America, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the plenary high level meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Organization.

The President of Turkmenistan made a keynote speech and touched upon priority positions of our country including constructive solution of topical issues of regional and international significance.

As the head of the state pointed out, the present condition of universal realities, character and tendencies of political, economic, social processes objectively demand a resolute turn for a well-coordinated interaction of states and international organizations for achievement of general overall objective - maintenance of peace and safety, creation of conditions for further development, preservation of the legal framework put in the basis of modern world order. Under such point of view, our country considers the main tasks of the 80th session of the General Assembly, laying hopes on it in formation of the strong, well-balanced and safe world architecture.

In the given context, specific proposals on maintenance of global peace, security and sustainable development, ecological well-being, strengthening of multilateral humanitarian cooperation and international interaction in the legal sphere were put forward. In particular, they include initiatives on organization of the World summit of the culture of peace and trust and development of the Code of international trust on its results, drafts of resolutions on declaration of Decade of the United Nations on sustainable transport for 2026-2035 and «The key role of reliable and stable energy connectivity in maintenance of sustainable development».

Taking into account a broad support of proposals of the President of Turkmenistan in the field of ecology by the world community as well as with a view of contribution to fulfilment of SDGs at national and regional levels, it is proposed to hold in our country in 2026 the Second Caspian ecology forum. It will promote practical realization of the Caspian ecology initiative and creation of the Regional center to combat desertification in countries of Central Asia.

Activization of multilateral humanitarian cooperation, the initiative under the Resolution on announcement «International day of multilingual diplomacy» are urged to promote development of intercultural dialogue and strengthening of mutual trust.

In the light of interaction in the legal sphere, focusing attention on the importance of the standard norms regulating the relations between states, including the United Nations Charter, Turkmenistan suggests to declare 2028 as the «Year of international law».

Within his visit, the head of the state met Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, King Mswati III of Eswatini, Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah as well as heads of European states, in particular, with President of the Portuguese Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the Federal President of the Austrian Republic Alexander Van der Bellen and the President of Swiss Confederation Karin Keller-Sutter. During meetings, mutual interest in development of fruitful interstate relations was confirmed and perspective areas of cooperation were discussed.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov invited interlocutors to take part in the International forum in Ashgabat on December 12, devoted to the 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan and announcement of 2025 as the «International year of peace and trust» by the United Nations at the initiative of our country. 

In days of his stay with a working visit to the USA, the President of Turkmenistan celebrated his next birthday. World leaders congratulated the head of the state with this event - Presidents of Russia - Vladimir Putin, China - Xi Jinping, Turkiye - Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Republics of Korea - Lee Jae Myung, Tajikistan - Emomali Rahmon, Kyrgyzstan - Sadyr Japarov, Azerbaijan - Ilham Aliyev, Belarus - Alexander Lukashenko and Armenia - Vahagn Khachaturyan as well as political and public figures.

In their messages, they note the personal contribution of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to development of international cooperation and express confidence of the further strengthening of partner relations and wish health, well-being and successes in his responsible state activity and to the people of Turkmenistan - happiness and prosperity.

On behalf of Turkmen people and Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the President of the country with his birthday, which coincided with days of celebration of the 34th anniversary of sacred independence. 

On September 22, in the Mukam Palace of the State culture center of Turkmenistan the concert devoted to the birthday of Arkadagly Hero Serdar and holiday of independence of our fatherland took place.

Topical aspects of state life were considered at the next meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held online by the President of Turkmenistan on September 25.

Discussed issues included modernization of national legislation, the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Hungarian commission on economic cooperation, strengthening of material and technical basis of the sphere of geology for exploration of oil fields and natural gas, training of specialists of international class for the national civil aviation and further program development of the agricultural complex.

Within the meeting, it was informed on organization of celebrations in honor of the next anniversary of sovereignty of our fatherland and the events planned to be held in October.

Besides it, for consideration of the head of the state the draft of the List of exhibitions, fairs, conferences and festivals proposed to be held in 2026 was submitted.

Results of participation of the head of Turkmenistan in the jubilee 80th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations became a separate topic.

The President of the country during the Government meeting signed a number of documents. Among them - the Decree on pardoning convicted persons on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan, the Decision, according to which the residency permits were given to a group of foreign nationals in Turkmenistan as well as the Decision on approval of the structure of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Hungarian commission on economic cooperation from the Turkmen party.

On September 26, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Martin Bouygues, CEO of Bouygues, who arrived with a number of heads of this large building concern in our country for participation in celebrations on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of independence of our fatherland. At the meeting, prospects of development of the established productive cooperation were discussed.

Issues of expansion of participation of foreign business partners in realization of large-scale economic projects in Turkmenistan were also considered during meetings of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, with representatives of companies "Bouygues", «Rönesans Holding» and «Çalyk Holding».

On the threshold of the holiday, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov familiarized with the course of modernization of the Ashgabat equestrian sports complex where solemn actions and festive horse races were planned.

The special attention was given to ecological aspects and maintenance of all conditions for horses, equestrians and numerous visitors. Hero-Arkadag personally checked up the quality of tracks of the complex by riding the horse Hanbeg. As was marked, horse breeding should developed on the basis of national principles, taking into account long-term experience in this sphere and international standards.

That very day, the National Leader of the Turkmen people visited the Ahalteke equestrian sports complex of the President of Turkmenistan where he familiarized with its activity. It was underlined that all conditions for effective trainings of horses and fruitful work of horse breeders who bring a worthy contribution throughout the glorious history of "heavenly" racers there should be created.

Thus, events of the past week marked by celebration of the 34th anniversary of state sovereignty, attested clearly to success of the constructive strategy realized by head of the state Serdar Berdimuhamedov aimed at further increase of standards of living of our people, maintenance of political and economic stability of Turkmenistan, its invariable adherence to high humane traditions, peaceful disposition principles, mutual respect, creation and progress.
