Today, festive events were held in the modernized Ashgabat equestrian sports complex in honour of the 34th anniversary of sacred independence of Turkmenistan and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also took part in them.
One should note that organization of festive horse races in the modernised equestrian sports complex has a special sense. There from first years of independence on the occasion of significant dates various horse competitions, which have become a symbol of adherence of our people to the history and centuries-old traditions of ancestors, have been held.
"Heavenly" racing horses, which have been bred in the Turkmen land and have become a treasure of human civilisation, are recognised as the elite one among other breeds of horses in the planet.
Today, Akhal-teke horses are a bright symbol of the high boundaries reached by our independent, permanently neutral fatherland. In this connection, due work is carried out both in the country and abroad to augment their glory and to further improve the art of national horse riding.
The performance of the Galkynyş National Equestrian Games Group at the International circus festival in Monte-Carlo where it received the Gold award and other special prizes became one of clear examples of successful work in this sphere.
Under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who worthily continues noble undertakings of Hero-Arkadag, regular measures are taken to develop the horse-breeding sector, to popularise traditions of national horse breeding and preserve purity of the Akhal-teke breed. Creation of the Aba Annayev International Horse Breeding Academy in Arkadag city constructed at the picturesque foothills of the Kopet Dagh also clearly attests to the fact. This higher educational institution trains highly skilled specialists for the horse-breeding sector.
At the same time, installation of the monument «Taýçanak» in Arkadag city and the naming of one of the avenues after «Ahalteke atlary» became another evidence of national love to glorified horses.
Created in 2010 at the initiative of the Hero-Arkadag, the International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association with its headquarters in Ashgabat plays an important role in the complex work carried out to preserve, study and develop the national art of horse breeding, popularise and continue its rich traditions originating from the depth of millennia, promote equestrian sports and expand fruitful cooperation with interested foreign partners in the given spheres at present.
Today, the given organisation under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan and the head of the International Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association Serdar Berdimuhamedov unites specialists, scientists-hippologists, and other connoisseurs of "winged" racers from all corners of the world. At its regular meetings topical and perspective areas of partnership are discussed, its maintenance is enriched with new joint projects and business contacts, mutually beneficial exchange of experience is carried out.
Besides its cultural value, horses are capable to have a positive influence on human health. Among methods of recovery of health and healing from various diseases – hippotherapy - treatment through riding and communication with horses. This procedure is useful at treatment of diseases of cardiovascular system, support-motor apparatus, digestive and nervous system.
Inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Humanity, the horse breeding art and traditions of decoration of horses as one of the art forms has increased an international recognition of Akhal-teke horses, which are considered as a masterpiece of national and world culture.
… From the early morning in the Ashgabat equestrian sports complex located in at the picturesque corner of the capital, the festive atmosphere reigns.
There, Chairwoman of the Mejlis, members of the Government of the country, heads of ministries and sectoral departments, public organisations, mass media, heads of diplomatic representatives accredited in Turkmenistan and missions gathered.
All with huge enthusiasm welcome President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Along the path leading to the front entrance of the complex, the exhibition with participation of Ashgabat and Arkadag cities, five velayats of the country was held.
At the exhibition one could see works of artists, sculptors and jewellers, embodied beauty of Akhal-teke horses as well as works of decorative and applied arts. Authors could skilfully display magnificence, keen sight and static shape of Akhal-teke horses.
One could see among exhibits – fine horse harnesses in semi-precious stones - original works of art showing the skill of Turkmen jewellers.
The training of horses various skills, the beauty and playfulness of which admires, demands persistent work, knowledge, love and talent. Our brave ancestors worked hard in this area. In the works “A Horse is a Symbol of Faithfulness and Happiness”, “Ahalteke Horse is Our Pride and Glory”, “Swift Step of a Race Horse” by Hero Arkadag one can find detailed information of “heavenly” horses.

… Swift gallops of Akhal-teke horses makes an impression that they as if soar over the earth, without touching it. In this creation, one can see refined beauty and matchless grace with amazing endurance and force, ardent temperament and proud temper with keen soul capable of surprising fidelity and devotion.
A total of seven racecourses for various distances were held.
In the starting round for 1600 metres the horse of bay colour Babadash belonging to the Akhal-teke equestrian sports complex of the President of Turkmenistan with jokey of the third category M.Agamyradov was the first to reach the finish line by covering the distance in 1 minute 51,3 seconds.
In the second round for 1600 metres, black horse Gelejek of the khyakimlik of Ashgabat city was the first to reach the finish line by covering the distance in 1 minute 51,7 seconds. Its master jockey is O.Yalkabov.
In the third round for the distance of 1600 metres, the best result (1 minute 50 seconds) was shown by the horse of dun colour Khazyna of the Ministry of Defence of Turkmenistan with its jockey D.Atdayev.
In other rounds on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan racers at the age of four years and older competed.
The bay horse of Dovamat of the Akhal-teke equestrian sports complex of the President of Turkmenistan with jockey B.Babayev could cover the distance for 1600 meters in 1 minute 48, 2 seconds and won the event.
In the fifth round of festive horse races for the same distance, black horse Garayol of Ashgabat city khyakimlik with master-jockey R.Seyidov was the first to finish the racecourse in 1 minute 48, 7 seconds.
In the sixth round for 2200 metres, dun horse Gudratlydag of the state enterprise «Tokaý hojalygy» of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan with its jockey D.Berdimammedov showed the best result with 2 minutes 33 seconds.
In the final, seventh round for the same distance, tough contest was held for the main prize founded by the President of Turkmenistan. Cream-coloured horse Bezirgen of the Akhal-teke equestrian sports complex of the President of Turkmenistan was the first to reach the finish line with its master jockey B.Agamyradov in 2 minutes 34, 5 seconds.
Then, a solemn ceremony of awarding of winners took place.
Having expressed to the head of the state and Hero-Arkadag their deep gratitude for all-round care of promotion and development of equestrian sports in the country, participants of competitions assured that they will make henceforth all efforts for augmentation of international recognition of "paradise" racers.
On completion of celebrations in the Ashgabat equestrian sports complex, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly said goodbye to all and left the place.
Thus, festive celebrations were a bright symbol of prompt development of Turkmenistan under the wise leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar in the Era of Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state for maintenance of prosperous life of our people.
