During his visit to the United States, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov had a meeting with King Mswati III of Eswatini.
After warmly greeting each other, the two expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to meet on the sidelines of the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly and exchange views on the prospects and possible directions for the development of interstate relations.
The King of Eswatini noted the high level of organization of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which took place in August of this year in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, and reiterated his gratitude for the hospitality.
Expressing appreciation for the kind words, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan, based on its legal status of neutrality, which has been recognized three times by the United Nations, maintains friendly relations with all countries of the world, attaching great importance to establishing cooperation with African states.
In this regard, the importance of the recent signing of the Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Eswatini was emphasized.
The sides expressed confidence that the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Eswatini will create a solid foundation for long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and King Mswati III of Eswatini exchanged good wishes.
