The President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of Georgia held talks

On August 5, 2025, in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

Expressing gratitude for the hospitality and invitation to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, the Prime Minister of the friendly country highly appreciated the organizational level of this Forum and stated that its holding on Turkmen soil is evidence of Turkmenistan's commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The distinguished guest also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili to the President of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

Having warmly welcomed the Prime Minister of Georgia to the Turkmen land, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude for the accepted invitation to participate in the International Conference held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, and, taking the opportunity, expressed his best wishes to the President of the friendly country.

Expressing satisfaction with the intensification of high-level political dialogue between the two countries in recent years, the head of state particularly noted the fruitfulness of the talks held in Ashgabat during Irakli Kobakhidze’s official visit to Turkmenistan.

As noted during the meeting, traditionally friendly and fruitful relations between Turkmenistan and Georgia are based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and trust. Trade and economic cooperation is an important component of the Turkmen-Georgian interstate dialogue. In addition, the countries fruitfully interact in the fields of transport, industry and healthcare.

The transport and logistics sector is one of the key areas of bilateral cooperation. In this regard, Turkmenistan is interested in the implementation and development of the Black Sea-Caspian Sea and Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey transport corridors.

The interlocutors also emphasized the importance of developing cultural and humanitarian cooperation and noted that both countries have great potential for joint work and exchange of experience in the fields of science and education, culture and art.

At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze exchanged best wishes, confirming their commitment to further developing long-term cooperation between the two countries based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit.
