The Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of the country held a scientific and practical conference «State Program «Saglyk» in Action», dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the above-mentioned Program. The event was attended by heads and representatives of health care institutions of the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, velayats, health departments, public organisations, the faculty of the State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after Myrat Garryyev, students.

The conference participants got acquainted with the exhibition organised there. Here, along with items of decorative and applied art, medical equipment, a wide range of medical products from medicinal plants growing on the generous Turkmen land were presented. The exhibition also posted information on the achievements and successes of the domestic health care system.

An important place in the exposition was occupied by the scientific and encyclopaedic work of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Hero-Arkadag «Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan». Translated into different languages, this multi-volume edition has received recognition from the international community.

Issues related to the successful implementation of the tasks arising from the State Program «Saglyk», developed on the initiative of Hero-Arkadag, as well as improving the work of medical institutions, improving the quality and level of medical services provided to the population, are constantly in the centre of attention of the state. This opens up broad opportunities for strengthening the material and technical base of the structures of the healthcare system and activating cooperation in this area.

The participants of the event expressed deep gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and doctor Arkadag for creating all the conditions in recent years to improve the professional level of Turkmen doctors, including in the world's leading clinics, to acquire much-needed experience and skills.

The conference participants also noted the importance of fulfilling the instructions given by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the recently held expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. These include accelerating the development of master plans for the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, as well as velayats, and continued control over the construction of residential buildings, hospitals and other social facilities in the regions and cities. These measures are being taken as part of the successful implementation of the Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the socio-economic development of the country in 2022-2028, as well as the National Rural Program. In this regard, the participants, emphasising the importance of the decisions of the head of state at the expanded meeting of the Government, noted that the successful implementation of the planned tasks will have a positive impact on the social security of the population. At the same time, the conference discussed the recent flight of Hero Arkadag over the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag. Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people got acquainted with the state of affairs at the construction sites, as well as with the progress of repairs at existing medical centres. Doctor Arkadag gave valuable recommendations regarding a responsible and comprehensive approach to the design and construction of the hospital complex of the State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after Myrat Garryyev, the Medical School named after Indira Gandhi and educational and methodological centres, which are of great importance in improving the theoretical and practical skills of students in the specialised field of training.

The speakers also noted the importance of Hero-Arkadag's initiatives in designing the Health House and the ambulance service unit in the rapidly developing «Parahat» residential complex. All these are noble initiatives in the name of protecting public health, including in the capital.

As was emphasised, the state is taking comprehensive measures to establish the principles of a healthy lifestyle and disease prevention throughout the country, including the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag. Such large-scale work, carried out with the direct assistance of the head of state and Hero-Arkadag, is yielding positive results. In this way, a similar approach is manifested in the construction of social facilities in all corners of the Fatherland, as well as in the grandiose activities of the state in this area.

The conference participants also noted that Hero-Arkadag constantly emphasises that disease prevention is much more effective than treatment. As is known, in our country in 1995, on the initiative and with the direct participation of the doctor Arkadag, the State Program «Saglyk» was developed in the country. In 2015, a new version of this Program was adopted. This indicates that in our Fatherland, an integrated approach to the protection and strengthening of human health, disease prevention is being implemented.

During the conference, on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, gifts were presented to doctors and specialists who have been working tirelessly in the healthcare sector for many years and have earned honour and respect. The results of the «Best Hospital» competition, held throughout the country, were also summed up.

In conclusion, the participants adopted an Address to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Conferences dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the State Program of the President of Turkmenistan «Saglyk» were held throughout the country. Thematic events were also held in the health centres of the capital, the city of Arkadag and the velayats. All these celebrations reflect the significance of the glorious anniversary of the State Program «Saglyk», which occupies a special place in the life of the country, in particular, in the domestic healthcare system.
