Today, as part of the cultural program of the visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Hero-Arkadag visited the cities of Fizuli and Shusha.

Hero-Arkadag arrived at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku. Here, the National Leader of the Turkmen people talked with the official representative of Azerbaijan, who noted the importance of the meetings and negotiations held during the visit of Hero-Arkadag. Confidence was expressed that the current visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people will give a powerful impetus to bringing the traditionally friendly interstate dialogue to a qualitatively new level. Then Hero-Arkadag left for the city of Fizuli.

After some time, the airliner of the National Leader of the Turkmen people landed at the Fizuli International Airport, decorated with the state flags of the two countries. A guard of honor was lined up on both sides of the carpet leading from the plane’s steps. 

At the airport, the distinguished guest was warmly welcomed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Here, Hero-Arkadag was introduced to the international airports of Fizuli, Lachin and Zangilan, and the corresponding projects of these modern transport infrastructure facilities of the country were presented. Fizuli Airport was commissioned in 2021, Lachin Airport – in 2022, and Zangilan Airport – in 2023. These airports have terminals with the necessary conditions for passengers and other related facilities.

It should be noted that, on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and as a result of the consistent efforts of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, projects of international importance are being implemented in the field of air transport in Turkmenistan. New airports equipped with advanced equipment have been built in our country. Among them are the Ashgabat International Airport, with a capacity of about 1,600 passengers per hour, as well as the international airports of Turkmenabat, Kerki and Balkanabat. 

The technical park of the national aviation is regularly replenished with modern aircraft of Boeing and Airbus companies, which contributes to the competitiveness of the national airline and the increase in the volume of cargo and passenger transportation. The infrastructure of the capital's airport is consistently modernized, which makes it possible to constantly monitor the technical condition of cargo and passenger aircraft in accordance with international requirements.

After familiarizing themselves with the airport, Heroy-Arkadag and President Ilham Aliyev headed to the city of Shusha by car.

Along the way, the special representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the Aghdam, Fizuli and Khojavend districts acquainted Hero-Arkadag with the construction projects being implemented in the city of Fizuli.

Currently, modern residential complexes, healthcare and educational institutions and other infrastructure facilities are being built here. Particular attention is paid to the construction of internal roads.

During the presentation, Honored Architect of Turkmenistan Heroy-Arkadag gave valuable recommendations on this matter. President Ilham Aliyev emphasized their importance. The Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed sincere gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people for such valuable recommendations.

It should be noted that one of the visible confirmations of the successes achieved by our sovereign state is the city of Arkadag, which has no analogues in the region, built on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and thanks to the tireless efforts of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. This city, built on the ancient land from which the glorious history of our people originates, is an exemplary project of a "smart" city, in the social sphere of which advanced digital, information and communication and "green" technologies have been introduced. It harmoniously combines the best traditions of national architecture and modern trends in urban development and design.

On the Dashalty plain, which is located near the city of Shusha, Hero-Arkadag and the head of the friendly state took a joint commemorative photo.

The nature of this area is diverse. This is the most favorable natural corner for walking, relaxing and having a good time.

The city of Shusha, located at an altitude of 1368 meters above sea level, is considered the cultural capital of Azerbaijan.

At the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th centuries, Shusha became the musical center of the Caucasus. In addition, the city is considered as a resort due to its beautiful nature and clean air.

In the historical center of Shusha there are ancient buildings, water sources, mosques, caravanserais, mausoleums, madrassas and fortresses.

Arriving in the city, Hero-Arkadag and President Ilham Aliyev visited a new residential complex under construction.

Currently, new residential complexes are being built within the framework of the general plan of the city of Shusha. The first residential complex was commissioned in May 2024, and another one – in May 2025. Currently, construction continues.

In this regard, it should be noted that huge funds are also invested in large-scale urban development projects in our country. Modern cities, towns, villages, scientific, educational, medical, cultural institutions, industrial enterprises are regularly built.

Great importance is attached to the implementation of the National Rural Program aimed at improving the social and living standards, creating favorable conditions for creative work, rest and comfortable living of the population. In accordance with the tasks outlined in the program, modern villages are being built in all corners of our country. All this testifies to a responsible approach to work in accordance with the approved standards and taking into account urban development.

New residential complexes are a clear result of the successful implementation of the urban development program in the Turkmen capital. Providing residents with modern and affordable housing is one of the main goals of this program. To achieve them, and in accordance with the decision of the President of Turkmenistan, along with the modernization of the housing stock, not only multi-storey residential buildings with an improved layout, but also cottage-type residential buildings with increased comfort are being built. All this allows residents to choose housing that meets their personal needs.

Hero-Arkadag also got acquainted with the construction of the mosque. The foundation of the new mosque was laid in 2021. The project is being implemented by an Italian company and Azerbaijani architects. The design of the external facade of the mosque will be dominated by geometric patterns found in the decor of the ancient mosques of the city of Shusha. It should be noted that in recent years, mosques have been built in different parts of our country and in the capital that fully meet modern architectural requirements.

On the territory of the mosque, accompanying structures for sadaqah and other rituals are also being built. The construction of mosques, which are popularly considered the “House of Allah”, indicates that the good deed, started in the Fatherland on the initiative of Hero Arkadag, is successfully continuing under the leadership of the head of state. In this regard, it should be noted that on the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the construction of a new mosque is continuing in the city of Arkadag.

Then Hero-Arkadag and the head of the friendly country got acquainted with a photo exhibition dedicated to Heydar Aliyev.

The building of the Creativity Center is included in the list of architectural monuments of national significance. The exhibition presents photo and video materials, as well as documents reflecting the merits of the National Leader of Azerbaijan in the socio-economic, political and cultural development of the country. Heydar Aliyev attached great importance to the development of the city of Shusha and did a great job in this direction. 

Then Hero-Arkadag and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Shusha Fortress.

Being an architectural monument of national importance, it was built in 1752 on a high hill. The fortress was an important center for various cultures and peoples.

The natural beauty surrounding the Shusha Fortress makes a huge impression on tourists and photographers. Shusha, which attracts scientists and travelers interested in the history and culture of the Caucasus, has become one of the favorite places of residents and guests.

Looking back at the history of the two fraternal peoples, one can note the similarity in many characteristics. The Turkmen and Azerbaijani peoples have created a unique rich culture over many centuries.

As is known, large-scale work is being carried out in our Fatherland to study, preserve and popularize the rich historical and cultural heritage of the nation.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and President Ilham Aliyev took a photo in front of the Shusha Fortress.

Then, Hero-Arkadag and the head of the friendly state visited the house-museum of the famous Azerbaijani opera singer Bulbul in Shusha.

The famous artist spent his childhood here. The museum displays family and childhood photographs of Professor Bulbul, the founder of Azerbaijani vocal art, as well as personal belongings and documents telling about the creative, scientific, pedagogical and social activities of the singer.

Bulbul’s son, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan Polat Bulbul oglu, introduced the distinguished guests to the museum exposition.

As is known, for special merits in strengthening friendly, fraternal, good-neighborly and constructive relations between the peoples of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, long-term cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two states, as well as for inspiring talent and outstanding achievements in the development of musical art, Polat Bulbul oglu was awarded the honorary title of “People’s Artist of Turkmenistan”.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people thanked for an impressive and interesting excursion, noting the important role of such museums in preserving cultural heritage and passing it on to future generations.

In turn, Polat Bulbul oglu expressed sincere gratitude to the distinguished guest for visiting the museum.

Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag and President Ilham Aliyev visited the Govher Aga Mosque in Shusha.

The Upper Govher Aga Mosque, located in the historical part of the city, is one of the famous architectural and cultural monuments of Azerbaijan.

In addition to being a place of worship, the Govher Aga Mosque was also a cultural center of Shusha.

Prayers were offered in the mosque for the Turkmen and Azerbaijani peoples to have a peaceful and prosperous life.

Then, Hero-Arkadag and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited the Mehmandarovs’ house-museum.

The Mehmandarovs’ house is a palace-type residential complex, one of the unique examples of Azerbaijani architecture of the 18th century. The complex is surrounded by a stone fence. The mosque was built on the edge of the courtyard, and its entrance faced both the street and the courtyard. Therefore, the doors of the mosque were always open to visitors.

Then, Hero-Arkadag and the President of Azerbaijan visited the Jidir Plain and took a memorable photo here.

The Jidir Plain was one of the most popular recreation areas for residents and guests of Shusha. For many centuries, celebrations on the occasion of Novruz and other holidays were held here, as well as horse races. Horse lovers from all over Azerbaijan and abroad flocked to the Jydyr Plain to watch the races. On the occasion of the high guest's arrival, demonstration performances of horsemen from the friendly country were held, which became a kind of acquaintance with the Karabakh horses.

It should be noted that the Turkmen people also pay special attention to horses, which have been the companions of brave warriors for thousands of years. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Hero-Arkadag, a connoisseur of “heavenly” horses, the Akhalteke horses have become a symbol of rapidly developing Turkmenistan in the new historical period.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people dedicated several of his remarkable books to frisky horses, including “Ahalteke bedewi – biziň buýsanjymyz we şöhratymyz”, “Gadamy batly bedew”, “Atda wepa-da bar, sapa-da”. They were translated into many languages, gained wide world fame, and today they are given an important role in the further increase of the world fame of Akhalteke horses. 

Currently, a lot of work is being done in Turkmenistan to develop the ancient art of horse riding. Master riders, continuing the best traditions of great ancestors, do everything necessary to preserve the purity of the unique breed and increase its population.

On the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Galkynyş National Equestrian Games Group was created in 2007. Currently, this group is known not only in our country, but also far beyond its borders. It has performed in various countries and has been awarded a number of prestigious international awards.

During a visit to the Jydyr Plain, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag was presented with a Karabakh horse named Dostluk as a sign of high respect.

Having thanked for the gift, Hero-Arkadag said that he accepts it as a symbol of the unbreakable Turkmen-Azerbaijani friendship.

Hero-Arkadag thanked President Ilham Aliyev and representatives of the Azerbaijani side for the high level of organization of the excursion, revealing the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Azerbaijani people.

Having completed the program of the visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag went to the Fizuli International Airport, from where he departed for his Homeland.

At the airport, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag was seen off by officials of the friendly country.

After some time, the plane of Hero-Arkadag landed at the International Airport of the capital, where the National Leader of the Turkmen people was met by officials of the country.

Thus, the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Azerbaijan and the negotiations held within its framework demonstrated the commitment of both sides to the further development of traditionally friendly interstate relations and mutually beneficial fruitful cooperation in a wide range of areas for the benefit of the two fraternal peoples.
