President of Turkmenistan received the Chairman of Japan- Turkmenistan Committee on Economic Cooperation

On June 27, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received a member of the Board of Directors, Executive Vice President of ITOCHU Corporation, President of the engineering company, Chairman of the Japan-Turkmenistan Committee on Economic Cooperation Hiroyuki Tsubai, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit.

Expressing gratitude for the time devoted to the meeting, the guest noted the high interest of Japanese business circles in activities in the Turkmen market, where a favorable investment climate and all the necessary conditions for fruitful work have been created.

Warmly welcoming the businessman, the head of state emphasized the long-term and strategic nature of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation, which is based on the principles of mutual respect and support.

Noting that during his visit to Japan in April of this year, high-level talks were held and important agreements were reached, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that he warmly recalls the meeting with Hiroyuki Tsubai that took place at that time.

The head of state also noted with satisfaction that during the mentioned visit, the delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the World Exhibition EXPO-2025, where Turkmenistan was the first to hold the opening ceremony of the National Day and the pavilion.

In turn, Hiroyuki Tsubai emphasized the importance of the proposals and initiatives voiced by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a meeting with representatives of Japanese business circles held during the visit. As reported, measures are currently being taken to implement them.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation were discussed. In this context, the significant contribution of Japanese companies to the realization of mutual economic potential was noted.

Major Japanese companies have already implemented a number of projects in the gas and chemical industry of Turkmenistan. At the same time, there are opportunities to develop constructive partnerships in new areas, which are facilitated by the favorable conditions created in Turkmenistan, said President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

In this regard, the role of the Japan-Turkmenistan Committee on Economic Cooperation in expanding cooperation was noted.

The ITOCHU Corporation company took part in the implementation of a number of major projects in Turkmenistan, the head of state empasized, confirming Turkmenistan’s readiness to further develop partnership with this company.

Expressing gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the favorable conditions created for the effective work of foreign companies in Turkmenistan, the businessman emphasized that ITOCHU Corporation highly values cooperation with Turkmenistan.

At the end of the meeting, highlighting that the activities of Japanese companies in Turkmenistan contribute to the strengthening of friendly interstate relations, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the member of the Board of Directors, Executive Vice President of ITOCHU Corporation, President of the Engineering Company, Chairman of the Japan-Turkmenistan Committee on Economic Cooperation Hiroyuki Tsubai further success in his work.
