Today, in the picturesque valley of Akhal velayat, in the corner «Nowruz ýaýlasy» of Ak bugday etrap, in the building «Türkmeniň ak öýi» a solemn opening of the Week of culture timed to Day of workers of art and culture as well as the poetry of Magtymguly Fragi widely marked in our fatherland.

A large-scale creative event initiated by National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, annually since 2013 has been held in different regions of the country, showing a bright palette and variety of national culture, familiarizing people with its values. This forum of art is aimed at preservation, study and wide popularisation of the spiritual heritage of Turkmen in the world, encouragement of professional growth of workers of art and culture and search of new talents.

Events held on the margins of the Week, are filled with national colours and reflect high achievements of Turkmenistan, inspiration and well-being of people. Each region of the country, annually picking up the baton to hold the cultural event, aspires to show its contribution to progress of our fatherland, creative potential in opera, song-music, film- and theatrical, decorative and applied arts and literature.

… This morning members of the Government, heads and representatives of the Ministry of culture, higher schools of arts of the country, public organisations, mass media, workers of art and culture and the student's youth gathered in the ceremonies on the occasion of the opening of Week of culture-2025.

Among participants of the large-scale event – famous theatre actors, variety and folk performers, specialists of  museum and library science, musicians, artists, poets and prose writers, creative groups and popular folklore-ethnographic groups of all regions of the country.

Everywhere the celebratory atmosphere reigns, guests were welcomed with the bread and salt in the building by the developed tradition.

In the foyer of «Türkmeniň ak öýi», the exhibition of fine, decorative and applied art as well as artefacts from funds of the museums, exhibits of which tell of original traditions going back from time immemorial, the richest cultural heritage of our people, its art was opened. There magnificent carpets, felts and tapestry works, ceramics, sculptural compositions, ancient national customs, samples of fabric, fine jewellery, musical instruments, items  of traditional life of Turkmen, works of masters of brush and canvas, as well as printed products were displayed.

The gathered heard the welcoming message of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with huge enthusiasm. In the message, the head of the state expressed confidence that the present event held in Akhal velayat, which increases in the number of glorious events of the International year of peace and trust, will become a cultural event of great value in popularisation of great successes, reached in the sphere of culture in the world. The President of the country underlined that the Week of culture is a celebration of national culture and art, which urged to raise the patriotic spirit of compatriots and to inspire them into new heights.

It is necessary to mark that as a result of initiatives of Hero-Arkadag and the realised state policy, Turkmenistan under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov takes an active part in efforts of the United Nations Organization to strengthen global peace and security, development of effective cooperation in political-diplomatic, trade and economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Humane principles, which unite society, enriching its spiritual life and serve establishment and development of all-round relations lie at the heart of culture.

This Week of culture passes under the motto «2025 - the International year of peace and trust». As known, all events carried out in the country on the occasion of the motto of the year and 30th anniversary of permanent neutrality of our fatherland reflect its achievements in various spheres and are accompanied by performances of actors, music and folklore groups.

And today under the arches of «Türkmeniň ak öýi» the concert of workers of art and culture, young performers - winners of various national creative competitions, popular music groups took place. Colourful performances discovered the rich heritage of Turkmen people, many-sided nature of its creative talents. The large-scale activity of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, who properly continues noble undertakings of National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag to strengthen peace, friendship and brotherhood all over the world, was sung in them.

Performances of actors were accompanied by video shots reflecting basic vectors of development of independent neutral Turkmenistan.

On completion of the concert, on behalf of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov the toy-sadaka was given for prosperity of the country and well-being of people in the building «Türkmeniň ak öýi».

Events proceeded in the National museum of «Ak bugdaý» - the first and unique museum of wheat in the world, the place where by undisputable evidence of scientists the most ancient centre of irrigated agricultural settlement was located. The national museum was opened in July 2005. By its architectural embodiment, this unique building reminds a sheaf of wheat, which crowns a huge golden ear reaching the sky.

The wheat grains, which were grown in the Turkmen land in V millennium B.C. (seven thousand years ago) found out in 1904 by the expedition of American geologist Raphael Pumpelly  is the main exhibit of the unique collection collected there. The museum also houses finds of other agricultural settlements of the Kopetdag valley - stone grain grinders, manual mill millstones, bronze mattock and knife, oil churns, fragments of ceramic ware, other instruments of labour and house utensils.

Then, the educational and methodical seminar of specialists of museum studies on the theme «Halkymyzyň medeni mirasyny toplamakda, gorap saklamakda we olary ylmy esasda öwrenmekde muzeýleriň orny», devoted to the role of museums in gathering, preservation and scientific study of the cultural heritage of our people was held. 

As was marked, the country’s museums are the largest cultural, scientific and educational centres in studying the history of Turkmen people, preservation and popularisation of the spiritual heritage that acts as one of the priority goals of the state. They store and increase art and intellectual values, unique historical evidence and curiosities saved for centuries.

It is necessary to note that the given sphere effectively develops thanks to the indefatigable care of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The ancient history of Turkmen people, its original culture, traditions and customs, unprecedented achievements of the state in the modern epoch - all it finds an embodiment in the richest museum expositions.

Historical and cultural monuments of Turkmenistan, which are an important component of world cultural heritage and evidence of rich history and a cultural variety of the region also have a huge significance. It is known that our land possesses such unique monuments and natural sights, as Altyn-depe, Namazga-depe, Gonur-depe, Anau, Ancient Merv, Koneurgench, Old Nisa, Paryzdepe, Shahrislam, Abiverd, Dehistan, Serahs, Darwaza and others. They represent a valuable source of the information for studying ancient civilisations, development of cultural links and understanding of the place of Turkmenistan in the world history. In this connection, year from year the interest of compatriots and foreign visitors in the heritage of our independent fatherland grows. Positive dynamics was observed in attendance of museums of the country, including located open-air sites.

The gathered made a special emphasis on perfection of work in preservation and augmentation of unique spiritual riches of our people and the role of museums in such important matter. In this connection, a great significance is given to complex work on protection, restoration and monitoring of conditions of hundreds historical and cultural, archaeological and architectural monuments in all velayats. Scientific research activities are conducted at sites.

During the meeting, an interested exchange of opinions concerning the further modernisation of methods of organisation of museology, study of material and cultural wealth, which has not only have a national, but also universal value, took place. The reports, concerning the registration and storage of works of art, archaeological finds, features of registration and safety of ancient arms, rules and order of placing of exhibits, and introduction of digital system in museum studies were heard.

It was underlined that today new methods and high technologies actively take root into the organisation of work of museums and the legislative framework of this sphere is improved in the country.

Within the forum, in the Culture centre of Kaka etrap a methodical meeting with participation of creative specialists of folk theatres, theatrical circles and drama schools of Akhal velayat was held. In the evening for display of «Şükür bagşy» actors of the folk theatre Kaka etrap were invited. In this play, main character Shukur went to a foreign country to release his brother from captivity, taking with himself his dutar instead of the arms as the world of violence would prefer. Trusting in his own music, he won the competition and achieved freedom of his elder brother.

Celebrations proceeded in the Culture centre of Anau city where the joint concert of groups of the specialized school of art and the children's schools of art Akhal velayat took place.

It is necessary to note that for cultivation of love to national culture, art and literature in the younger generation creative work and life of our outstanding figures of arts, bagshy, musicians and poets are rather important.

Culture centres of Anau city, Baherden and Gokdepe etraps will also open their doors for workers of culture and art, music and dance groups , including children’s’ music groups  from Ashgabat and Arkadag cities, Akhal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats.

Participants of the Week of culture-2025 will make unforgettable impressions on guests. Performances of popular singers and young talents, exhibitions of painting, products of decorative and applied arts, manuscripts and musical instruments, display of opera and theatrical performances, the new films, which have been made by «Türkmenfilm» association named after Oguzhan, methodical meetings, seminars, media forum, creative meetings, and evenings of poetry are planned. 

Events organized on the sidelines of this action will enable not only to show different features of national culture, but also to designate actual areas of further work on enrichment and discovery of its huge potential with a view of thorough study, popularisation of national heritage in the world and its passage to upcoming generations.
