On May 16, 2025, the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was on a working visit to the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, where he took part in the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2025” as an honorary guest.

At the Gabdulla Tukai International Airport in Kazan, where the State Flags of Turkmenistan, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation were raised on flagpoles and the Guard of Honor was lined up, the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov and other officials.

Hero-Arkadag was presented with bread and salt, the national Tatar dish chak-chak and flowers.

Then the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proceeded to the Kazan EXPO International Exhibition Center, where he took part in the Plenary Session of the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2025”.

At the opening of the Plenary Session, the Secretary General of the General Council of Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI) Abdelilah Belatik delivered an opening speech.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the XVI International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” Marat Khusnullin read the Address of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the participants of the Forum.

Then the floor was given to the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The National Leader of Turkmen people emphasized in his speech that Turkmenistan proceeds from the opportunities of effective application of diplomacy by Islamic states as a tool for achieving coherence of interests, mutual understanding and awareness of the benefits and prospects of economic partnership.

The speech of the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was heard with deep attention.

The Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim, who spoke next, also emphasized the importance of the Kazan Forum. At the same time, the significance of the proposals voiced by the National Leader of Turkmen people regarding the use of potential in the field of high technologies, innovative developments and artificial intelligence, which are of particular relevance today, was emphasized.

Then the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov addressed the audience. The head of Tatarstan expressed sincere gratitude to Hero-Arkadag for his meaningful speech and constructive initiatives aimed at the dynamic development of interstate relations in the name of common prosperity and progress.

From the Kazan EXPO International Exhibition Center, the joint motorcade of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation proceeded to the Kazan Kremlin. The official residence of the Head of Tatarstan is located on the territory of this historical and architectural complex.

At the end of the bilateral meeting of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, a reception was given on behalf of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation in honor of the National Leader of Turkmen people.

Here, Hero-Arkadag and the Head of Tatarstan, as well as the State Advisor of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Mintimer Shaimiev, had a conversation, during which the high level of Turkmen-Tatar relations was noted with satisfaction. It was emphasized that the existing potential creates favorable opportunities for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Then the National Leader of Turkmen people and the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation together visited one of the popular theaters of Kazan - the Tatar State Academic Theater named after Galiasgar Kamal. Hero-Arkadag and the Head of Tatarstan got acquainted with the interior design and equipment of the theater halls and premises, with the conditions created for the fruitful work of the creative team, as well as for the convenience of the audience.

Then the National Leader of Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation proceeded together to the Gabdulla Tukai International Airport.

Hero-Arkadag and Rustam Minnikhanov said a warm farewell to each other and exchanged best wishes to the two fraternal peoples.

Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people departed for his homeland.
