On May 14, 2025, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of the United Arab Emirates, CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazrouei and Minister of State for the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Al Sayegh.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet in person, the guests noted that the UAE attaches great importance to the continuous development of relations with Turkmenistan and, taking the opportunity, conveyed warm greetings from the leadership of their country to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
Having thanked the guests for their visit to our country as part of the official delegation of the fraternal state, the National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed confidence that its results will contribute to the further expansion of the established trusting and close cooperation between the peoples.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan conveyed his best wishes in return to the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of the Principality of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as an invitation to visit Turkmenistan at a time convenient for them.
As noted, the UAE is a reliable partner of Turkmenistan in the political, socio-economic spheres. The countries effectively interact within the framework of various international organizations, primarily the UN, OIC and other structures.
During the exchange of views on the current state of cooperation in the political and diplomatic sphere and the prospects for its development, the parties noted the importance of holding regular consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, emphasizing the need to continue them.
Such areas as energy, transport and communications, industry, and high technology were named as promising areas of cooperation. In this regard, in order to further strengthen Turkmen-Emirati relations, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan voiced a proposal to establish an Intergovernmental Committee on the Oil, Gas and Chemical Sectors.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty also expressed confidence that in the near future, joint work will be carried out with the UAE to develop the transport and logistics system in Central Asia, the Caspian region and Afghanistan.
At the end of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted the high level of established strong cooperation with the UAE, expressing best wishes to the representatives of the friendly state.
