Today, Turkmenistan celebrates a major nationwide holiday – the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the monuments of the memorial complex "Halk hakydasy".

During the ceremony, the Hero Arkadag held a conversation with veterans, spouses of war participants, and those who worked on the home front, inquiring about their well-being and congratulating them on Victory Day. The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted that the life path of representatives of the older generation, including devoted mothers who witnessed the hardships of war, serves as an exemplary school for the current generation.

Their merits and heroism will forever remain in the memory of happy generations. This is a clear demonstration of how the courage and patriotism of our glorious fathers connect eras and generations.

The veterans, who had to endure many hardships but were fortunate to live in peaceful times, expressed sincere gratitude to the Hero Arkadag and the Arkadagly Hero Serdar for the comprehensive attention and care shown to them, for the valuable gifts received on behalf of the head of state on the occasion of this significant anniversary, as well as for the congratulations, and they congratulated everyone on Victory Day.
