Today, the country widely marked the national holiday of the Turkmen horse, on the occasion of which major festive events were held in the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Sports Complex with participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

In the Era of Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state started by  National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the activity for enrichment of thousand-year old customs of our people and ancient traditions of horse breeding, development of the profile sector, popularisation of equestrian sports, expansion of fruitful relations with interested foreign partners are continued worthily under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Creation of the International Horse Breeding Academy named after Aba Annayev, the research and production centre of horse breeding as well as the state horse circus named after Gorogly for 1500 spectators in the picturesque corner of the Kopet Dagh, in the city of Arkadag attests to this fact clearly.

… In the morning, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Sports Complex.

There, the head of the state was warmly welcomed.

The Chairwoman of the Mejlis, Deputy-Chairmen of the Cabinet, heads of military and law enforcement bodies, ministries and departments, Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan, khyakim of Arkadag city, heads and employees of diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan and international organisations as well as representatives of mass media took part in the festive events organized in the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Sports Complex. 

Performances of workers of art and culture of the country added more joy to the festive atmosphere prevailing there.

The head of the state familiarised with the exhibition organized in the territory of the complex. The yurtas –«ak öý», established there representing the capital, Arkadag city and velayats with their integral attributes recreate the life mode of an ancient Turkmen settlement. Women and girls are engaged in carpet making, felt making to the accompaniment of ancient tunes. There museum pieces and works of modern artists were displayed. Carpets, sculptures, engravings and photos demonstrate the image of wonderful racehorses.

A special place is given to horse trappings in Turkmen jewellery art. Varieties of these works visually show that jewellery since ancient times has become traditional in the life of our people.

Throughout all history, Akhal-Teke horses drew attention of poets, writers and artists with their playfulness and beauty and today it is rather actual. Works of skilled and young sculptors were also displayed there.

The original colour inherent in the present Turkmen toy was displayed there by masterly performance of the dutar bagshy and the competition of palvans-wrestlers.

Head of the state Serdar Berdimuhamedov watched the palvans, who were showing unique techniques of the goresh, force and dexterity.

In front of the main square of the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Sports Complex actors of the variety art and dance groups of the country welcomed participants of the celebration.

«The heavenly» racehorse was at all times and remains a loyal friend, companion and a source of creative inspiration for the Turkmen. The traditions of horse grooming pass from father to son. Now «paradise» horses thanks to efforts of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov became a bright symbol of our independent neutral fatherland, which confidently follows the path of peace, creation and progress.

And today in honour of national favourites, the country again hosted a large festive event, an integral attribute of which since the olden times has remained horse races.

The head of the state, being an admirer of Akhal-Teke horses, renders comprehensive support to development of national equestrian sports. The commissioning of modern equestrian sports complexes as well as consecutive improvement of social and work conditions of horse breeders in the country can serve a good example for it. 

As for international cooperation in the given sphere, it is important to note creation of the UNESCO Club «Akhal-Teke horses - Ambassadors of peace» in the International Horse Breeding Academy named after Aba Annayev – an education centre of highly skilled experts in the field of horse breeding. The main objective of the work of the Club consists in support of efforts on preservation and development of the historical and cultural heritage of Turkmen people, study of history of Akhal-Teke horses and popularisation of «heavenly» racehorses globally.

The presenter announces the start of festive horse races - the most prestigious competitions of the season.

It is necessary to note that, having created such work of the highest art of national selectors and horse grooms as Akhal-Teke horse, having kept thoroughbredness of these invaluable horses, domestic horse breeders do not cease to foster their better qualities. Principles of our ancestors on cultivation of Akhal-Teke horses are based on ancient and original traditions of horse breeding.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov put before specialists a goal in expansion of scientific basis in breeding with use of modern methods, active development of different kinds of equestrian sports, strengthening of international interaction in the given sphere.

From century to century, from generation to generation traditions of horse breeding were transferred. And today, the glorious tradition of careful treatment with the live property of the nation which defined its historical destiny, proceeds.

... The horse races, which were organized today on the occasion of the holiday, became an original hymn to the «paradise» horses, which are a pride of Turkmen people. Horse races demand from jockeys’ boldness, courage, resourcefulness, purposefulness and, of course, love and careful attitude towards horses.

Tens of horses, which displayed better qualities, took part in seven rounds for various distances.

In the first race for 1400 metres horses competed for the prize of the financial and economic complex of the country and the horse named Babadash belonging to the Akhal-Teke horse complex of the President of Turkmenistan was the first to finish. Its jockey - R.Agamyradov.

In the second race for 1400 metres for the prize of the oil and gas complex, the racehorse named Goar II of the state enterprise «Forestry» of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan took the lead. Its jockey - O.Amangeldiev.

In the third race for 1600 metres for the prize of the trading complex, the racehorse named Yagmyrly belonging to «Türkmenawtoulaglary» agency was the first to finish. Its jockey - D.Azadov.

In the fourth event for 1600 metres for the prize of the transport and communications complex, racehorse named Gazanar belonging to the Prosecutor General's Office of Turkmenistan became winner. Its jockey of the third category was Y.Saparov.

In the fifth race for 1600 metres, for the prize of the building-industrial complex, racehorse named Shagirt II of the Akhal-Teke horse complex of the President of Turkmenistan was the first to finish. Its jockey - S.Charyev.

In the sixth race for 1800 metres for the prize of agro-industrial complex, the racehorse named Gudratlydag of the state enterprise «Forestry» of the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan became winner. Its jockey - D.Berdimammedov.

The intense contest for the main prize of the President of Turkmenistan and a challenge cup continued in the final round, seventh event. The racehorse named Bezirgen belonging to the Akhal-Teke horse complex of the President of Turkmenistan was the first to cover an 1800 meters distance. Its jockey - master jockey B.Agamyradov.

Between races bagshy performed best programs. Songs and music of our glorious past and grandiose transformations of the present day sounded.

As always, present horse races became an amazing show. The competitive spirit, passion and, of course, playfulness and beauty of Akhal-Teke horses invariably give to such competitions an emotional colour.

Then, the awarding ceremony on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was organized and valuable prizes were given to winners of the festive horseraces as well as the marathon and competitions in show jumping of this week.

In the marathon for long distances, the racehorse named Polat displayed not only high-speed qualities, but also endurance with the best result. Its jockey - S.Seyidov.

Akhal-Teke horses have become famous in the history of world horse breeding for participation in long distances and their great endurance.

The first place in show jumping went to the horse named Altynhan with its jockey Y.Chopanov.

After the awarding of winners of the marathon and show jumping the awarding ceremony of costly presents, large monetary prizes and diplomas to participants of the present horseraces took place. Besides it, the large monetary prize and a challenge cup of the President of Turkmenistan were handed to the leader of the final race.

Receiving well-deserved awards and expressing to head of the state Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero Arkadag their sincere gratitude for care of development of national horse breeding and equestrian sports, jockeys assured that they would use their best efforts for preservation of glorified traditions of horse breeding, further popularisation of the Akhal-Teke breed.

On completion of the awarding ceremony, the head of the state on the occasion of the national holiday of the Turkmen horse was presented as gift with a magnificent carpet.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, warmly having said goodbye to everyone, left the place.
