Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via the digital system with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev and hyakims of the velayats to consider issues related to the country’s agricultural sector and the work carried out in the regions.

The first to speak was the hyakim of the Ahal velayat T. Nurmyradov, who reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region.

As reported, in order to grow a rich wheat harvest, irrigation is being carried out in the fields of the velayat these days in accordance with the requirements of agricultural technology.

At the same time, steps are being taken to prepare receiving points, elevators, grain harvesters and other equipment for harvesting wheat.

Currently, cotton sowing continues in the velayat, and the necessary measures are being taken to complete this important season within the timeframe established by agricultural technology. Irrigation is fulfilled on the sown areas, and inter-row cultivation is carried out on the fields where shoots have appeared.

Along with this, potato and vegetable and melon crops are being cared for in the region.

Relevant work is also being carried out in the velayat to successfully complete the cocoon production season.

In addition, the hyakim reported on preparations for the celebrations on the occasion of the National Turkmen Horse Day, which is annually celebrated in honor of the “heavenly” Akhalteke horses on the last Sunday of April.

Summarizing the report, the head of state emphasized that it is necessary to take all measures for the high-quality and timely completion of cotton sowing and organized preparation for harvesting grain, giving the hyakim relevant instructions in this regard.

Then the hyakim of the Balkan velayat H. Ashyrmyradov reported on the progress of agricultural campaigns in the region. As reported, work is currently underway in the velayat to accumulate water for irrigating wheat fields. As part of the upcoming grain harvest season, the readiness of grain harvesters, vehicles and harvest collection points is being checked.

Cotton sowing continues in the region, irrigation is being carried out on the sown fields, and inter-row cultivation is being carried out on the areas where shoots have been obtained.

Also, the fields of the velayat sown with spring potatoes and vegetable and melon crops are being cared for in accordance with agricultural standards.

In addition, in order to successfully fulfill the planned cocoon production plan, the region’s tenants are currently caring for silkworms.

The hyakim also reported on the preparation of events in the velayat on the occasion of the National Turkmen Horse Day. After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan noted that an important requirement is to conduct current agricultural work at a high organizational level, in particular, cotton sowing, as well as preparation for grain harvesting, addressing the relevant instructions to the hyakim.

Then the hyakim of the Dashoguz velayat D. Babayev reported on the pace of seasonal agricultural work in the region.

As reported, at present, in accordance with agricultural technology standards, the fields of the velayat are being tended, fed with mineral fertilizers, and watered. In order to organize the grain harvesting campaign, appropriate steps are being taken to prepare receiving points, elevators, combines and other equipment.

The region is taking the necessary measures to ensure high-quality cotton sowing and compliance with agricultural requirements, as well as for the effective use of agricultural machinery. Inter-row cultivation is being carried out in areas where shoots have been obtained. At the same time, spring potato, onion and melon crops are being tended.

Along with this, silkworm eggs have been distributed among tenants in order to successfully fulfill the plan for cocoon production outlined in the velayat.

The hyakim also reported on the preparations for cultural events in the region dedicated to the National Turkmen Horse Day. 

After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of an organized completion of cotton sowing, care for agricultural crops in accordance with agricultural technology standards, and proper preparation for grain harvesting, giving the hyakim a number of instructions in this regard.

Further, the hyakim of the Lebap velayat M. Annanepesov reported on the state of affairs in the region.

As reported, seedlings are being watered in the fields sown with wheat. In order to organize the grain harvest in the velayat, receiving points and elevators are being brought into proper condition.

In addition, cotton sowing continues, with agricultural machinery and units operating at full capacity. Irrigation is carried out in areas where sowing has been completed, and inter-row cultivation is carried out in areas with sprouts.

At the same time, care is being taken on the agricultural lands of the velayat, where spring potatoes and onions have been planted.

Appropriate measures are also being taken to ensure that the region fulfills the plan for cocoon production.

In addition, the hyakim reported on the progress of preparations for holding cultural and mass events in the velayat dedicated to the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse.

Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the organized sowing of cotton in accordance with agricultural technology standards and proper preparation for the grain harvest among the priority tasks, addressing the hyakim with relevant instructions.

Then, the hyakim of the Mary velayat B. Orazov reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region.

As reported, mineral fertilizers are currently being applied to the wheat fields and the seedlings are being watered. The appropriate steps are also being taken to prepare receiving points, elevators, harvesting combines and other equipment for the grain harvest.

At the same time, the necessary measures are being taken to ensure high-quality cotton sowing with the effective use of agricultural machinery. Inter-row cultivation is being carried out in the fields where seedlings have been obtained.

Guided by the set tasks of increasing the production of potatoes, other vegetable and melon crops, as well as providing the country’s population with these products in abundance, care for the crops planted on agricultural lands in the region continues.

Also, steps are being taken in the velayat to properly conduct the cocoon production season and successfully implement the plan in this area.

In addition, the hyakim reported on the preparations for the celebrations on the occasion of the National Turkmen Horse Day, which is annually widely celebrated in our country on the last Sunday of April.

Then the Deputy Prime Minister reported on the measures taken to prevent fires in the territories of forests, pastures and agricultural lands of the country in connection with global warming.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that strict compliance with agricultural standards during seasonal work, and the full use of powerful, modern equipment contribute to increasing the efficiency of agricultural production and obtaining high yields. In this regard, the President of the country addressed the Deputy Prime Minister with relevant instructions.

Then, addressing the participants of the working meeting, the head of state once again focused on the work being carried out on the country’s agricultural lands, emphasizing the importance of timely sowing of cotton, caring for wheat in accordance with agricultural technology standards, proper preparation for harvesting grain, and assigned to keep the progress of current agricultural campaigns under constant control.

The President of Turkmenistan ordered to ensure the necessary care for spring crops and strict compliance with fire safety rules to prevent fires in forests, pastures and agricultural lands of the country.

In addition, the head of state gave a number of instructions to ensure that cultural events in the regions on the occasion of the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse, widely celebrated in our country, are held at a high level.
