Today, the next 12th Turkmen-German Forum on Healthcare, organized digitally at the International Educational and Scientific Center of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, concluded its work.
The two-day forum, holding of which has become a good tradition, and this year symbolically coincided with World Health Day, was attended by professors from leading clinics in the Federal Republic of Germany, numerous specialists from healthcare institutions in our country, including the International Educational and Scientific Center, the Directorate of International Medical Centers, the Scientific and Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health, the International Scientific and Clinical Center for Physiology and regional health departments, as well as teachers and students of the Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan.
As noted at the opening ceremony of the forum held the day before, this format of cooperation, initiated at one time by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Hero-Arkadag, has become an important platform for the exchange of experience between specialists and scientists, facilitating the expansion of effective bilateral cooperation in a number of key areas of modern medicine, the improvement of national healthcare systems, the introduction of advanced technologies and equipment, the training of scientific personnel and qualified doctors.
Welcoming the participants of the meeting, Professor of the University Hospital Grosshadern in Munich Klaus Parkhofer expressed deep gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the initiative to regularly hold the Turkmen-German forum, as well as for the great attention paid to improving the national healthcare system in order to ensure a prosperous and happy life for the people of Turkmenistan.
The speeches emphasized that public health protection is an invariable priority of the state policy of Turkmenistan, which actively cooperates with authoritative international organizations, primarily with specialized UN structures, as well as with the largest medical centers of foreign countries to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in the field of Healthcare.
Within the framework of the successfully implemented comprehensive and long-term “Saglyk” State Program in Turkmenistan, targeted measures are being taken to modernize the infrastructure of the industry, accelerate the integration of world medical achievements into domestic science and practice, expand the range and improve the quality of medical services rendered to the population, and establish the principles of a healthy lifestyle.
Year after year, ultra-modern scientific and clinical centers and medical and preventive institutions equipped with the latest technology are being built throughout the country, with a significant part of the advanced equipment supplied from Germany, which is rightfully considered to be a recognized leader in the field of health care and has been our reliable partner for many years.
The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the Federal Ministry of Health of Germany, the Agreement on cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the Grosshadern Clinic of the Friedrich Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich are being successfully implemented.
In accordance with the agreements reached, Turkmen specialists not only regularly undergo training and professional retraining in German clinics, but also, thanks to online meetings, expand academic communication and exchange opinions on issues of medical practice of mutual interest.
Thus, the program of the current forum covered such topical issues as modern methods of treating childhood diseases, problems of pediatric rheumatology, issues related to bone marrow transplantation, treatment and provision of psychosocial support to cancer patients, the introduction of digital technologies in practical medicine, etc. These areas play a significant role in improving the quality of medical care and are relevant both for Turkmenistan and for the international medical community.
The partners from FRG thanked the Turkmen side for the high level of trust and proactive approach to building mutually beneficial cooperation, emphasizing the need for its further deepening in the search for new solutions to global challenges of modern healthcare.
Confirming their desire to continue the fruitful dialogue, German specialists expressed their readiness to continue exchanging accumulated experience and knowledge, the latest scientific and practical developments with their Turkmen colleagues, which is especially relevant in the context of the modernization of the healthcare system of Turkmenistan and its active transition to an innovative path of development.
At the end of the forum, the parties noted the exceptional productivity of the dialogue on a wide range of topical issues of modern medicine, expressing confidence that the current discussions will lead to new joint projects and initiatives destined to serve to strengthen the health and well-being of the peoples of our friendly countries.
