On 13 December 2024, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan Ravshanbek Alimov.

The Ambassador presented his credentials to the head of state and expressed sincere gratitude for the time devoted to the meeting.

The diplomat conveyed to the President of Turkmenistan, as well as to the National Leader of Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov warm greetings from President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who addressed his best wishes to the brotherly Turkmen people.

It was emphasized that the two countries share long-standing ties of friendship and brotherhood, common spiritual, cultural and historical values. Taking the opportunity, the Ambassador sincerely congratulated the head of state on the 29th anniversary of the legal status of permanent neutrality gained by Turkmenistan.

Thanking the Ambassador for his kind words and conveying warm greetings to the leader of Uzbekistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to the responsible diplomatic post and wished him success in further developing and strengthening the comprehensive interstate interaction, which is characterized by mutual respect and trust.

During the meeting, the sides noted the high level of interstate dialogue successfully developing both in bilateral and multilateral formats. It was underlined that in recent years Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation has further advanced and is intensifying on a wide range of fields. As a result of regular meetings and mutual visits, the two countries have reached a qualitatively new level of partnership in political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres in a relatively short period of time.

It was highlighted that trade and economic ties have a special place in the agenda of multifaceted cooperation. The bilateral trade turnover shows positive dynamics, collaboration in the fuel-energy, transport, logistics and agricultural sectors are actively expanding.

The sides reaffirmed that interaction in the humanitarian sphere is an integral component of the interstate dialogue, which is conditioned by the historically established unity of cultural, spiritual values and centuries-old traditions of the two peoples.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ravshanbek Alimov assured President Serdar Berdimuhamedov that he will fully contribute to strengthening of Turkmen-Uzbek relations, wishing new great successes in noble activities, as well as peace and prosperity to the Turkmen people.
