Events of the past week have once again attested clearly to the fact that in the Era of Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state as a result of a complex strategy initiated by Hero-Arkadag and nowadays consistently realised by Arkadagly Hero Serdar, Turkmenistan makes a worthy contribution to expansion and intensification of fruitful international cooperation and achieves high rates of development in all spheres.
On December 2, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting, at which issues of realisation of the National Rural Redevelopment Program as well as the course of seasonal agricultural campaigns were considered.
The basic attention was given to the care of wheat according to agro-technical standards, on harvest of the "white gold» to the last box and ploughing of fields to be sown with cotton in the next year, maintenance of peasants with relevant machinery for seasonal campaigns and organisation of activity of bio-enterprises.
At the same time, related authorities were instructed to make full settlements with cotton producers, supervise payments for expenditures of oil products for agricultural machinery in farmers associations and ensure timely settlement of mutual accounts with producers of cotton and wheat in regions for the cotton harvest of this year and wheat of the next year, gathering of sugar beet in Mary velayat and to keep a due control over the course of fulfilment of the goals outlined in the National Rural Redevelopment Program.
The head of the state also instructed to provide a high organizational level of the celebrations timed to International Day of Neutrality, supply of markets and shops with various products and prepare properly for the opening of social and industrial projects in regions.
On December 4, President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country general Serdar Berdimuhamedov held the next meeting of the State Security Council, at which the activity of military and law enforcement bodies for the January -November period of the current year was summed up.
Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country noted that according to the Military Doctrine, which bears especially a defensive character, our independent neutral state consistently undertakes the measures aimed at maintenance of security and integrity of our fatherland, strengthening of its defensibility as well as improvement of social living conditions of defenders of our fatherland and members of their families at high level.
During the meeting, he signed the document on the appointment and dismissal of prosecutors from office.
On December 4, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye Ömer Bolat, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the Exhibition of Export Goods of the Republic of Türkiye.
As the head of the state pointed out, this exhibition, regularly held in Turkmenistan, is one of the important events contributing to the intensification of mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.
Highlighting the importance of bilateral trade and economic partnership, the President of Turkmenistan paid special attention to the introduction of new technologies and advanced scientific achievements in various spheres, as well as international cooperation for consistent upgrading of the economy.
The Head of state reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to develop further fruitful bilateral cooperation, including the elevation of trade turnover, with consideration of specific proposals in various fields of mutual interest.
On December 6, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held the regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which he summed up the work carried out for eleven months of the current year as well as discussed priority issues of social and economic development of the country.
According to macroeconomic indicators as a result of adopted complex measures to ensure stable development of national economy, for the considered period the gross national product increased by 6,3 percent. The rate of increase in the industrial branch reached 2,2 percent, construction - 11 percent, transport-communication sector - 7,1 percent, trade - 9,5 percent, agriculture - 5,3 percent, sphere of services - 8,7 percent.
As compared with the similar period of 2023 for eleven months of this year the volume of production increased by 12, 1 percent. In sectors of economy positive industrial indicators were reached.
Retail goods turnover as compared with the same period of the past year grew by 12,8 percent. Stable rates were also observed in the foreign trade turnover.
The revenues part of the main financial plan was fulfilled at the level of 102,6 percent, and expenditures - 97,7 percent.
The sizes of salaries in large and medium size enterprises of the country as compared to the corresponding period of 2023 for January-November increased by over 10,6 percent.
As compared with the same period of the past year for eleven months the volume of the capital investments implemented at the expense of all sources of financing, grew by 29,2 percent.
The head of the state stated that results of the work carried out for 11 months, visually testify to great achievements of our independent neutral fatherland. In the country the adopted programs are successfully realised, construction of social cultural, and industrial projects is conducted.
The President of Turkmenistan made an emphasis on the good message which has arrived from the United Nations Organization. So, on December 2 at the 79th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations the Resolution initiated by our country «Zone of Peace, Trust and Cooperation of Central Asia» was unanimously adopted.
This event attested to a broad support of efforts of Turkmenistan in universal peace maintenance, development of mutually beneficial friendly and brotherly relations by the international community.
The past week, the head of the state signed a number of documents. They included the Resolution on concluding a supplementary agreement to the contract for the supply of electricity from Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan as well as the Order on an office trip of the Turkmen delegation to the city of Vienna (the Austrian Republic) for participation in celebrations on the occasion of presentation of the prestigious quality award from the European Society for Quality Research to the city of Arkadag.
On December 7, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Energy of Iran Abbas Aliabadi and Chairman of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Reza Farzin, who arrived with a visit in our country.
During the meeting they discussed issues of expansion of bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sphere and diversification of delivery of energy resources to world markets.
Other events of the past week included the working visit of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for participation in the “One Water” Summit, held on the margins of the 16th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD COP16).
Following primordial traditions and customs of our people, Hajy Arkadag started his visit with pilgrimage to sacred Kaaba and visited the city of Mecca.
Speaking at the Summit, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed his opinion that all complex water problematics in Central Asia should be considered on the basis of three important principles: observance of international law; taking into mutual interests; involvement of international organisations, first of all, the United Nations in this work.
Having underlined that in the near future in Ashgabat the Regional Centre for Climate Change Technologies in Central Asia, will start to function, Hero-Arkadag assured that the Government of Turkmenistan will render the maximum assistance to the new structure for effective fulfilment of its goals and objects.
On the sidelines of his working visit, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
During discussion of priority areas of Turkmen-Saudi partnership, they underlined a significance of the present summit and definite proposals put forward by Turkmenistan.
The interlocutors confirmed that they will strengthen further bilateral trade and economic relations, to expand cooperation in energy and transport-communication spheres.
The past week, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
They discussed prospects of development of bilateral partnership in trade and economic and fuel and energy spheres.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people and the head of the neighbouring brotherly state noted a high efficiency of joint work in the gas sphere and pointed out to its long-term character, and agreed on increase in volume of export of Turkmen natural gas to Uzbekistan. They also discussed prospects in realisation of joint gas projects planned to be implemented in the near future.
National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Honoured Elder Hero-Arkadag held the meeting of the Board of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship in Arkadag city and summed up the work carried out for 2024 and discussed forthcoming goals.
During the meeting, Hero-Arkadag signed the Resolution on perfection of activity of the Foundation and approved the Charter and structure of the Board of the Foundation and Positions of the Council of elders under the Foundation.
Another document was signed with a view of support of the people who applied to the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship.
On the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the Mejlis received credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to Turkmenistan Ms. Ekaterini Xagorari and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Turkmenistan Saif Bin Rashid Bin Saif Aljahwari.
Ashgabat hosted the exhibition of export goods of the Republic of Türkiye and the regular meeting of the Turkmen-Turkish business council.
A wide assortment of high-quality goods, including the equipment were displayed expositions for the industrial and agricultural sector, spare parts, building materials, household and electronic appliances, household goods, textiles.
The exhibition not only opened potential of manufacturers of the friendly state, but also promoted establishment of direct contacts with their Turkmen partners.
The Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azady hosted a two-day international scientific-practical conference «Innovative methods and technologies of teaching foreign languages».
In the forum, which held in the hybrid format, teachers, professors, experts and specialists in the field of linguistics and methodology of teaching of foreign languages from Turkmenistan and more part than 30 states and students of national higher educational schools participated.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country hosted the regular meeting of the Strategic Advisory Council "Turkmenistan-United Nations", in which developed projects of programs and relevant documents on development of bilateral partnership were discussed.
They included the Framework Program of Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Nations in the field of sustainable development for 2026-2030; the Joint Program of UN agencies "Youth, Peace and Security"; Joint programs with UN agencies in Turkmenistan in such areas as education, healthcare, green energy and digitalization. The "Roadmap on strengthening accountability in Turkmenistan for the Sustainable Development Goals for 2025-2027" was approved.
Besides it, participants of the meeting considered the work of the UN Centre for Technologies Related to Climate Change in Central Asia and the achievements of our state in the implementation of the SDGs.
In Ashgabat the regional meeting of international experts on the inclusion of the Caspian Corridor of the Great Silk Road in the UNESCO World Heritage List was held.
The event was attended by representatives of the Government, national coordinators and experts of the working group of the serial transnational nomination "Caspian-Volga Silk Road Corridor" from the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, Turkmenistan, also representatives of UNESCO, the International Institute of Central Asian Studies (IICAS), the International Council for the Preservation of Monuments and Landmarks places (ICPML), Teikyo University (Japan), University College London UCL (UK).
Important themes considered by experts included integration of modern technologies into researches and management of objects of heritage and preparation of the Atlas of maps and gathering of graphic materials of land and underwater archaeological objects of the region, development of the corresponding Road Map.
Thus, the past week was rich in events testifying to productivity of large scale initiatives of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on all-around development of our fatherland, deepening of the political dialogue of Turkmenistan with the world community, expansion of humanitarian relations in interests of global sustainable development. Popularisation of the historical and cultural and spiritual heritage of Turkmen people, who have brought a weighty contribution to development of world civilisation in the world also makes up a significant aspect.
