On October 14, 2024, a telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

After exchanging greetings, the interlocutors noted with satisfaction that cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, including in the cultural and humanitarian sphere, is fruitfully developing and strengthening.

The head of the friendly country expressed his sincere gratitude to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the invitation to take part in the high representative forum held in honor of the great Eastern thinker Magtymguly, and for awarding him with a jubilee medal, asking the National Leader of the Turkmen people to convey his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the President of Turkmenistan.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the great Magtymguly Fragi is highly revered in Uzbekistan, his works are well known, and the international conference held in Ashgabat is of great importance in strengthening friendly ties between peoples.

Having expressed gratitude for participation in the international forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi’s birth, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan once again congratulated the Uzbek leader on the presentation of the jubilee medal of Turkmenistan «Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna».

The National Leader of the Turkmen people also noted that he remembers with particular warmth his meeting with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev within the framework of the forum.

During the conversation, the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic, fuel and energy, transport, communications, and agricultural spheres were discussed, as well as issues of implementing previously reached agreements and planned joint projects.

At the end of the telephone conversation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev exchanged wishes for good health and success in responsible state activities, and for the fraternal peoples – peace, well-being and prosperity.
