On October 10, 2024, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a state visit.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, having warmly welcomed the distinguished guest to the ancient and hospitable Turkmen land, expressed confidence that the participation of the head of the friendly country in the international forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, as part of the state visit to Turkmenistan, will give impetus to the further development of bilateral relations in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.

Saying that the friendly relations between the two countries are currently based on openness, mutual respect and understanding, the President of Mongolia noted that this visit will be of great importance in developing bilateral relations.

As was noted during the meeting, our countries effectively cooperate not only in a bilateral format, but also within the framework of authoritative international organizations. A striking example of this is Mongolia’s co-authorship and support of initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan at the United Nations General Assembly.

Focusing on issues of trade and economic partnership, the interlocutors emphasized that there are broad opportunities for developing bilateral cooperation in this area. In this regard, it was noted that it is advisable to intensify effective and mutually beneficial relations in the fuel and energy, transport and communications sectors, and in agriculture.

Noting that there is enormous potential for further development of cooperation between the two countries in the cultural and humanitarian areas, in the fields of science and education, sports and tourism, the National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed firm confidence that, thanks to joint efforts, friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Mongolia will continue to develop for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh wished each other good health, happiness and success in their state activities, and the friendly peoples of the two countries – peace, well-being and prosperity.
