The President of Turkmenistan inspects the progress of construction work at the gas chemical complex, which is designed to process natural gas and produce polyethylene and polypropylene. The specialists of the complex reported to the President of Turkmenistan on the progress of installation works, familiarizing the Turkmen leader with the operational characteristics and capacities of the enterprise, which is scheduled to be put into operation in September, 2018. Inspecting a number of production facilities at the complex, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the most important factor of this object – the complex is environmentally safe. It creates conditions for production of ecologically friendly products. The President of Turkmenistan underlined that this aspect should be considered while constructing the gasoline production plant in the Ahal Velayat. The Turkmen leader also noted that the projects on construction of a number of similar gas chemical complexes would be launched in the country in the nearest future. The President of Turkmenistan emphasized that the increase of the export volumes of gas products would enable our country to occupy a worthy place on the promising market of chemical products. The gas deposits, containing high-structure ethane contribute to the intensive development of the gas chemical segment. During the meeting with the specialists of the enterprise, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov presented the key points of his election campaign and answered their questions. The gas chemical complex in Kiyanly, the construction of which was launched in 2013, is designed to process five billion cubic meters of natural gas and produce 386,000 tons of polyethylene and 81,000 tons of polypropylene per year. Over 1,200 jobs will be created at the complex. The project is implemented jointly by the TOYO Engineering (Japan) and a consortium of LG International Corporation and Hyundai Engineering Corp. Ltd (Republic of Korea). The total cost of the project is more than US$ 3.432 billion.  Polyethylene and polypropylene will be produced based on the most advanced technologies, a distinctive feature of which is deep cleaning of raw materials from all kinds of impurities. Granulated polypropylene is of high demand on the world markets. It is used for production of polymeric films, synthetic fibers, high-strength thermoplastic sheet and, accordingly, all kinds of plastic products - pipes, hard thread, car filters as well as cloth and furniture, packaging materials, etc. Another product that will be manufactured in Kiyanly - polyethylene has excellent export prospects. It can be used for production of various pipes and consumer goods.  Given today’s growth rates of the propylene global consumption, the demand for this product will significantly exceed the volumes of production in the coming years. Therefore, the new technology of its production is extremely important. The construction of the facility is based on the licensed technologies of the world leading companies. The most advanced equipment produced in Japan, the Republic of Korea, the US, the UK, Belgium, Germany, Denmark and other European countries will be installed at the complex.
