President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected the situation in the construction of carbamide plant in Garabogaz, Turkmenbashy etrap. The Head of the State reviewed main workshops of the enterprise, met with the representatives of the customer and contractor of the project, expressed the interest in financing of the construction, compliance to the schedules of equipment supplies and construction works, future export of carbamide fertilizers. Nowadays, leading companies express the interest in procurement of carbamide fertilizers, which would be produced at new enterprise, - the Head of the State mentioned. The President highlighted good opportunity for realization of carbamide fertilizers produced at Garabogaz plant to different countries via Turkmenbashy International Seaport, which is currently under modernization. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also met the constructors and specialists of the enterprise. The construction of the plant with output capacity of 1 million 155 thousand tons of carbamide per year started in December 2014 and it is planned to be completed in June 2018. Framework Agreement on realization of the project was signed in September 2013 during the visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Japan. Japanese partners «Mitsubishi Corporation» and «Mıtsubisi Heavy Industries» provides the equipment for the workshops and «Gap Inşaat» company do the construction works, delivery of materials, installation and commissioning works along with engineering services. 60 hectares land plot was allocated for the plant complex. Ammonia and carbamide departments, liquid ammonia and carbamide warehouses, water treatment installation, gas turbine electrical generator, sea water supply system, product packing and shipping workshops and other will be located on its territory. At present moment, hundreds of young engineers from all the country, including those who received the education in leading Japanese Universities, as well as workers, who received qualification and modern knowledge during developing of new production, are involved in work at gas and chemical complex. Around 900 working places will be established once the plan would be put into operation. The project stipulates construction of social facilities including living complex for 3500 people. In the future, there will be comfortable town with all necessary social infrastructure, school, kindergarten, etc. Natural gas, which reserves put Turkmenistan into the leading positions in the world, will be input material for the enterprise. This factor creates perspectives for construction of new enterprises producing nitrogen fertilizers, in particular the carbamide. Special attention was paid to ecological aspect during development of the project. The presence of rich natural resources allows Turkmenistan to be in the list of the largest producers of iodine, bromine and other chemical production, provides the opportunity to produce all types of mineral fertilizers in the volumes necessary for internal needs and for export. Another large enterprise of the branch – Garlyk Mining and Processing Facility for production of potassium fertilizers has to be put into operation soon.
