The overall objectives of the Era of Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state successfully realised under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov- augmentation of economic potential of the country, nation cultural wealth, increase of well-being of Turkmen people and strengthening of the international authority of Turkmenistan found their reflection in the events of the past week.
On August 12, the telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida.
The head of the Government of the friendly country expressed his gratitude to the head of the Turkmen state for support of the decision on postponement of the first Summit of the Central Asia-Japan dialogue and a bilateral meeting planned to be held on August 9 in Astana in connection with the strongest earthquake occurred in Japan.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in his turn underlined that he received the message of the earthquake in Japan with grief. On behalf of all Turkmen people and on his own behalf, the head of the state conveyed his sincere condolences and words of support as well as wishes of the soonest recovery to those who have suffered.
The President of the country underlined that Turkmenistan highly appreciates a level of interstate relations with Japan and attaches a special significance to their further development in all priority areas. At that, the interest in partnership within authoritative international organisations, first of all, within the United Nations was confirmed.
During the conversation, it was noted that today the scope of bilateral interaction covers a wide range of areas, including industry, transport-communication and fuel and energy spheres.
Speaking of importance of development of the interstate dialogue built on principles of equality, taking into account national interests and paramount problems of social and economic development of both countries, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov invited the Prime Minister of Japan to visit Turkmenistan at any time convenient for him.
Having thanked for the invitation, the head of the government of the friendly country assured that the Japanese party is also interested in all-round strengthening of fruitful partnership and looks forward to negotiations with the President of Turkmenistan in the near future for definition of new areas of joint work.
On August 13, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov who is on vacation, arrived in Avaza national tourist zone - natural "pearl" of Turkmen seaside.
The following day, the head of the state had a bike trip on the picturesque coast of Caspian Sea, enjoying invigorating freshness of the morning.
The favourable climate of the modern resort-recreational system, which provides high-class services, in many respects, is attributed to the coolness of the sea and the Avaza River in combination with green parks and wood zones, the territory of which lately has considerably extended. At the same time, large scale measures taken by the state to maintain ecological well-being, realise the national forest program, protect the unique flora and fauna, preserve and study the biodiversity of the Caspian pool have considerably improved the ecology of the coastal location and have essentially raised popularity of Avaza national tourist zone.
National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Honourable elder Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov who is on vacation, visited sanatorium "Archman". Hero-Arkadag met Managing Director of the Office of Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Executive Director of the Charitable Foundation for assistance to children in need of care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov R.Bazarov. The special attention was given to issues of preparation for the next session of the Khalk Maslakhaty and celebration of significant dates during the conversation.
Hero-Arkadag also read poems from the new collection of works by Magtymguly Fragi and together with his grandsons and great-grandson made an excursion to the territory of sanatorium "Archman".
The past week Avaza national tourist zone also hosted celebration of Day of the Caspian Sea.
The scientific-practical conference «The Caspian sea: partnership for sustainable development», organised on the instructions of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Institute of the Caspian sea with assistance the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan became a central event.
Deputy-Chairman of the Cabinet, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, heads of corresponding ministries and departments, experts of profile structures and scientific community of our country took part in the forum.
Among visitors were representatives of diplomatic missions of the Caspian states accredited in Turkmenistan as well as Turkiye, Georgia, Romania, Great Britain and Tajikistan, authoritative international and regional organisations - Office of the Resident Co-ordinator of the United Nations, the United nations Development Program (UNDP), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Ashgabat, the Central Asian and Caucasus Regional Fisheries and Aquaculture Commission, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), World Bank, International Maritime Law Institute, International Ocean Institute and others.
Its agenda included a wide range of issues of cooperation of coastal countries in maintenance of sustainable development, which is based on a number of major factors that include solution of several economic, social and ecological problems. In reports many-sided work carried out by regional countries in the given sphere, including within the realisation of the Caspian Environment Programme (CEP) was comprehensively highlighted.
A special emphasis was made on topicality of the proposal on creation of the «Caspian Environmental Initiative» called to become an international platform for subject and professional interaction on a wide range of the issues connected with preservation of the environment of the Caspian sea, preservation of its biological resources, solution of urgent ecological problems put forward by Turkmenistan at the plenary meeting of the 78th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
Besides it, within festive actions an exhibition and competitions in various sports were organized.
Preparation for the 30th anniversary of neutrality of the country in 2025 as well as realisation of the Resolution of General Assembly of the United Nations on announcement of the next year as International Year of Peace and Trust, Turkmenistan will continue active interaction with partners.
Concrete steps of the state found reflexion in priority positions of Turkmenistan, which will be presented at the 79th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization.
As was marked in the message of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the past week, Turkmenistan was elected vice-chairman of the forthcoming session and plans to make a number of important initiatives aimed at strengthening peace, security and sustainable development.
Among key proposals are development of the Strategy of global security, creation of the specialised program of preparation of global mediators of the United Nations and initiation of the Global Circular Economy Transition Framework.
Besides it, within realisation of the Goals of sustainable development of the United Nations Turkmenistan plans to give particular attention to issues of transport, energy security, climatic subjects, humanitarian sphere and sports diplomacy.
Work on establishment of the Regional Centre for Technologies related to Climate Change in Central Asia and United Nations Special Programme for the Aral Sea Basin (UN SPAS) will be continued.
The next issue of the quarterly popular scientific magazine "Miras" prepared by the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan was published.
In the year, which passes under the motto «The Fount of wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi», the majority of materials of the new edition were devoted to scientific researches containing data on the life, richest creative heritage, features of artistic thinking of the outstanding poet and thinker of the East, celebration of the 300th birthday anniversary of whom found a wide response all over the world.
Published in Turkmen, English and Russian languages and with a high polygraphic level, the issue of the magazine was supplemented with colourful photographic illustrations.
Thus, events of the past week once again attested to acknowledgement of systematic and successful realisation of large-scale goals of the foreign and home policy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, based upon the powerful economic potential of the state, mutually beneficial international cooperation, unique cultural heritage and spiritual strength of the nation.
