Around three and half thousand pupils spend winter holidays in 14 children health resorts of Gyokdere. There are 240 children from the capital orphanage «Döwletliler köşgi» and 100 fosters of Balkanabat orphanage. Besides, 1360 boys and girls enjoy themselves in five children health centres in the velayats. Ministries of education, culture, the State Committee for Sport together with non-government organizations prepared eventful programme for the children including New Year celebrations with presentation of the gifts from the President of Turkmenistan, performances of circus, popular, theatre artists, different art and sport competitions. For example, teams of children health centres of Gyokdere will compete in the baton of contests for the best theatre play, the best vocal and dance performance, puppet show, the most original handcraft and other. The kids also will take part in fire fighting, Turkmen national games, chess, checkers, duzzum game, table tennis and other competitions. There are famous sportsmen and popular singers among the guests who visit the children in these days.
