Having stressed that over twenty five years of independence Turkmenistan achieved impressive success in the policy, economy and culture and entered on the next phase of its development, the nominee for the post of President of Turkmenistan Jumanazar Annayev in his Keynote Statement has outlined a number of systemic measures and set to himself the following objectives. In terms of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality status, we will undertake the measures aimed at the peaceful development of the state and increase its authority at the world’s arena as a proponent of the fraternal and friendly relations with all countries. We will pay special attention to the development of agriculture – an important sector of the country’s national economy. We will apply the advanced international and domestic practices for preventing the arable lands from salinization, raising the level of crop yield, rational use of water resources, for expanded applying of the crop-rotation methodologies. We will develop new types of the production-economic relations in the agricultural complex to resolve such problems, as creating of beneficial economic conditions for agricultural producers, giving a worthy estimate to the work of the advanced farmers and land leasers, establishing economic relations between the state and daikhans. All of those will give a strong impulse to the development of the agricultural sector. We will regularly support the entrepreneurial activity related to the improvement of the fertility of lands, provision of food security, supplies of raw materials to the industry, promoting of the processing industries advancement. We will improve the work of scientific and research institutes involved in the production of cotton, wheat, and other cultures in accordance with world standards. In the animal husbandry, special emphasis will be placed on the private businesses. The support of private entrepreneurs will encourage further saturation of our markets and shops with meat and meat products at the affordable prices. The work for diversifying of the Turkmen natural gas supply routes will be continued. Environment protection will remain in the focus of our attention. We will continue the work for planting trees and shrubs. We will hold in the focus the provision of plants and factories with ecology-friendly technologies, which will protect the environment more efficiently. We will build countrywide the comfortable apartment houses; we will achieve more rapid paces of construction in the construction sector; we will pay special attention to diversification of our economy. Not the least significant is advancement of the textile complex; we will upgrade and provide the latest equipment to the existing enterprises of the industry. We will build new and modernize the existing factories in all places of our country. Introducing the advanced international practice to the textile enterprises of our country, we will expand the work on achieving high-quality of textiles highly-acclaimed at the foreign markets. The development of this branch will be our main target. To create additional jobs for the population of the cotton-producing etraps, we consider advisable to build new cotton-spinning factories, whose production capacities will conform to the volumes of the cotton fiber produced. We will continue the development of the National Tourist Zone “Avaza” on the ecologically friendly coast of the Caspian Sea. Building the roads with rapid paces and high quality, we will achieve the conformity of our automobile roads of our country with the world’s standards. Automobile, railroad and air fleets will be supplemented with modern vehicles. Putting into life the principle “State – for a man!” and the policy aimed at the improvement of the native people’s wellbeing, the annual practice of increasing pensions, allowances, scholarships and salaries will be continued. Care for the growing generation will remain the issue of priority of the state’s policy. Execution and implementation of the adopted resolutions, bills and programs aimed at upbringing and educating of the physically healthy and spiritually perfect growing generation will be the main objective Jumanazar Annaev has assured the electorate that he would diligently work for the benefit of our sunny country’s further advancement, spare no efforts to improve the wealth of the Turkmen people and further increase of Turkmenistan’s authority.
