Today, in the conference hall of the Center for Public Organizations, a presentation of the book by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov “Anau – Culture Originated from the Millennia”, dedicated to the proclamation of the ancient town of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024, took place.

The celebration, organized by the Halk Maslakhaty, the Mejlis and public organizations of Turkmenistan, was attended by representatives of education, science and culture, the media, respectable elders, and students.

It is noteworthy that the new work came from the pen of Arkadagly Hero Serdar in the year passing under the motto “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi,” thereby symbolizing the continuity of traditions and foundations of the current and previous generations.

Behind any archaeological monument, any example of ancient architecture is the history of the Turkmen people, who founded the center of early human civilization on their land. Indeed, architectural monuments can tell a lot about the heyday of states, about the people who inhabited them many centuries ago and the heroic defenders. These national shrines act as an unshakable symbol of courage, unbending will, unity and love for the Homeland of the Turkmen people, who now are experiencing spiritual and cultural flourishing in the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state.

The solemn event was preceded by an exhibition reflecting the rich cultural heritage and creative traditions of the Turkmen people. Samples of decorative and applied art are presented here – man-made evidence of our ancient history and rich culture.

The central exhibit was the new work of the head of Turkmenistan “Anau – Culture Originated from the Millennia”. It also presents fundamental multi-volume studies of Hero-Arkadag, which are very popular both in our country and abroad, as well as various publications about the rich world of national culture and folk traditions, achievements of the modern Homeland.

Inspired performances by creative groups, popular singers and musicians brought bright colors to the prevailing festive atmosphere.

During the presentation, those gathered expressed sincere gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his selfless love for the national traditions and values of the Turkmens, ancient history and multifaceted culture of the people.

The speeches emphasized the exceptional importance of the book, which conveys the idea of the need for in-depth study, preservation and widespread popularization of the greatest cultural heritage and history of the Turkmen people, who have made a significant contribution to the development of global civilization.

The presentation participants were unanimous in the opinion that the book “Anau – Culture Originated from the Millennia,” truly priceless in meaning and content, is a clear indication of the scale of the painstaking and talented scientific and literary work carried out by the head of Turkmenistan on the systematic collection, detailed study and popularization of priceless monuments of material culture.

As is known, during the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, held on March 23, the head of state noted that the fertile Turkmen land is famous for its rich history and focused attention on the discoveries made in our country by world-famous archaeologists V.Masson, R. Pampelli, V. Sarianidi, confirming the great past of the Turkmen people.

As the head of state emphasized, Hero-Arkadag had the opportunity to work with them and their descendants, participate in organizing archaeological expeditions to different parts of the country, and, in general, facilitate their research. The information Arkadag collected from historical sources promoted the creation of a new book.

The author’s intention is also emphasized by the composition of the book, which consists of three chapters: “The Uniqueness of Ancient Anau”, “Major Events connecting Historical Epochs” and “The Glorious Path of Ancient Anau Stretches in Ahal Valley”. Page after page, the head of state reveals the significance of the culture of Anau from ancient times, relying on numerous testimonies from different epochs and folk memory, which till this day preserves amazing legends and traditions.

Having analyzed his accumulated knowledge, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov talks about the history of the ancient city of Anau, architectural monuments, Jeitun agriculture, the results of research conducted by famous scientists, the present day of Ahal velayat and Anau city, about his experience of working in this region before his election to the highest government post, the Ak Bugday National Museum, as well as the opening of Arkadag city, which is a visible symbol of the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state.

Poets and art masters who spoke at the presentation unanimously noted that the new work of Arkadagly Hero Serdar will help preserve the continuity of the ancient material and spiritual culture of the Turkmens, who carefully treat the heritage of their ancestors.

Published at a high printing level, the book is designed for a wide range of readers. Published in Turkmen, English and Russian, it will certainly have great cognitive and educational significance for young people.

At the end of the celebration, those gathered expressed their heartfelt gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his multifaceted activities, including scientifically studying the cultural heritage and history of the Turkmen people, identifying and restoring ancient values, and preserving them for succeeding generations.
