Today, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Binali Yildirim. During the meeting, the results of the Council meeting were summed up, and issues of the future work of the Organization, as well as the development of relations between the two countries were discussed.

Hero-Arkadag emphasized that he was glad to welcome the participants of the 15th meeting of the Council of Elders of the OTS on the hospitable Turkmen soil in the holy month of Oraza and congratulated the head of the Organization on his arrival, wishing him further success in his work.

On behalf of the participants in the meeting of the Council of Elders, Binali Yildirim expressed sincere gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero-Arkadag for the high level of organization of the current forum and for the warm welcome in the Homeland of their ancestors – in Turkmenistan. It was especially emphasized that the very fact of organizing a meeting of the Council of Elders of the OTS in Ashgabat is of a historical nature.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed confidence that holding the next meeting of the Council in the main city of our country will supplement the program of events dedicated to this year’s motto “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”, enrich it with semantic content and bring the relations of the Turkic states in various areas to a qualitatively new level.

As noted, during the meeting of the Council of Elders of the OTS, issues of further comprehensive cooperation between the countries of the Turkic world, which make a great contribution to increasing the efficiency of the work of this Organization, were considered.

Hero-Arkadag and the Chairman of the Council exchanged views on the importance of joining joint efforts in developing friendly, fraternal relations between countries, in particular, on expanding cultural and humanitarian dialogue. Confidence was expressed that the initiatives put forward at the meeting would give a powerful impetus to the further productive activities of the Organization of Turkic States.

A special role in the development of fruitful relations in economics, trade, transport, energy, and investment belongs to members of the Council of Elders, Hero-Arkadag said and thanked Binali Yildirim for the high level of organization of the Council’s work.

At the end of the meeting, the guest once again expressed gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people for holding the meeting at a high level and for the warm welcome on Turkmen soil, assuring them of jointly successfully solving the problems of the Organization of Turkic States.
