On the occasion of International Women's Day, a traditional exhibition-competition was solemnly opened at the Exhibition Centre of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan.

Every year, on the eve of the 8th of March, women artists present to the public their best works of fine art, glorifying the traditions and culture of the Turkmen people, the beauty of girls, women, mothers and, of course, the arrival of the long-awaited spring.

The rich exhibition «Gözellik döredýän zenanlar», unfolding on two floors of the Exhibition Centre, included works performed in a wide variety of types, techniques and genres.

Painting, graphics, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and design solutions made by professional artists and amateurs of arts and crafts were highly appreciated by the competition jury and guests of the exhibition.

Marked by the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, this year is held in our country under the motto «The Fount of the Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi». Therefore, the theme of many paintings is dedicated to the heritage and personality of the outstanding poet, who played an important role in the development of national literature.

The best works of artists and students of artistic creativity circles were rewarded with memorable gifts from the National Centre of Trade Unions, the Women's Union and the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan.

In addition, participants in the exhibition-competition - representatives of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, teachers and students of the Turkmen State Special Art School were awarded certificates of honour from the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Union of Artists of the country.

The exhibition of creative works by women artists of Turkmenistan will last for ten working days. Free admission.
