The next issue of the quarterly scientific-practical magazine “Foreign policy and diplomacy of Turkmenistan”, published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Turkmen, Russian and English languages, has been released out of print. The materials published on its pages familiarize a wide range of readers with major events of the foreign policy of our country.

The current issue of the magazine opens with publications devoted to foreign trips, meetings and negotiations of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, which took place in the fourth quarter of the past year and includes participation in the meeting of the Council of heads of states of the Commonwealth of Independent States, an official visit to the Republic of Turkiye, participation in the Summit of heads of states of the Economic Cooperation Organization, 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and an informal meeting of heads of states of CIS.

Published materials clearly testify to the positive course of the foreign policy of our country, which standing for constructive cooperation in regional and global dimensions actively develops a fruitful dialogue with states and international organisations for maintenance of peace, security and stability.

So, the official visit of the head of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Turkiye in October, 2023 became an important event. Productivity of summit talks held in Ankara is confirmed convincingly with agreements reached and a solid package of documents called essentially to strengthen a contractual and legal basis of Turkmen-Turkish cooperation in all its spectrum. The program of the visit also included participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the opening ceremony of the joint business forum.

Concrete proposals made by the head of Turkmenistan, which concern the future of cooperation in various areas, were welcomed with great enthusiasm by representatives of business circles of Turkiye. The outcome of the business forum found its reflexion in a number of the documents signed between Turkmen and Turkish businesspersons.

Participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the next meeting of the Council of heads of CIS states, that took place in the capital of the Kirghiz Republic – Bishkek, on October 13, 2023, testifies to an initiative position of Turkmenistan in issues of strengthening and intensification of versatile interstate cooperation.

Participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the 16^th Summit of heads of states of the Economic Cooperation Organization that took place in Tashkent on November 9, 2023 served an acknowledgement of aspiration of our country to promote productive partnership taking into account the available potential and prospects. In his speech, the President of Turkmenistan made proposals aimed at intensification of productive interaction in a number of priority spheres and as a whole, at supplementing multiplane cooperation with new ideas within the framework of ECO.

Practical realisation of potential of multilateral diplomacy, including environmental one obtains a great significance in the foreign policy of our country. So, on December 1-2, 2023, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to the United Arab Emirates where he took part in the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-28).

Having announced accession of Turkmenistan to the Global Methane Pledge, the head of the state pointed out that at the same time, Turkmenistan will continue ongoing cooperation with international organizations and partner states within the framework of existing projects and programs aimed at the practical implementation of the conditions arising from the Global Methane Pledge.

The publication on the working visit of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the People’s Republic of China, in which Hero-Arkadag met Ding Xuexiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the First Vice Premier of the State Council of China as well as participated in the high level conference on the sidelines of the Third Belt and Road International Cooperation Forum, which took place on October 17-18, 2023, is also presented to the attention of readers.

At the meeting a special emphasis was made on topicality of the strategy initiated by Turkmenistan to revive the Great Silk road under the conditions of the modern time and the concept of the People’s Republic of China “One belt, one road”, based on the general historical basis called to serve well-being and prosperity of countries and nations of the world.

As the Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan in his speech at the above-named forum marked, organization of the given meeting is a strong platform for achievement of reasonable balance between industrial activity and preservation of the environment as well as maintenance of ecological safety proceeding from realities of recent days.

The topic of other publication - participation of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedova in the 10^th Summit of heads of states of the Organization of Turkic states. Turkmenistan regularly takes part in meetings of heads of the Turkic states, putting forward constructive initiatives aimed at development of co-ordinated approaches to productive partnership, built on long-term prospect and equitable to interests of these countries.

The article with a review of the editions, which devoted publications to important events in the life of Turkmenistan and large scale achievements in political-diplomatic, economic, social and legal spheres, cultural-humanitarian areas reached under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was placed in the magazine under the headline “Turkmenistan in the mirror of world press”.

Articles by foreign and local authors, devoted to relations of Turkmenistan with friendly countries, including those on the margins of the Central Asia-Korea Forum and Turkmenistan-European Union dialogue will also evoke interest in readers.

Under the headline "Cooperation”, one can read publications on cooperation of our country with international organisations and structures - with the United Nations Development Program, World Health Organization, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and others.
