The past week closed the year 2023 by victories and successes in all areas of the home and foreign policy pursued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and aimed at further increase in the economic power of the country, well-being of our people, improvement of its social conditions, protection of national interests as well as strengthening of global peace. The year 2024, the motto of which is 'Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy' took up the torch of labour achievements and new victories of our fatherland.

The new year holiday, which is to enter the history of the country a major landmark on the path of sovereign state development, Turkmen nationals welcomed with joyful mood and confidence in further prosperity of independent neutral Turkmenistan in all areas, peaceful, coherent and happy life as great poet-thinker Magtymguly  dreamt.

It is significant that the start for the New Year's celebrations was given by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, having visited on December 28, a colourful show at the Main New Year’s tree of the country installed on the square in front of the "Älem" cultural and entertainment centre 

Children from all regions of our fatherland, among which honours schoolchildren, winners of subject Olympiads, sports competitions, art contests were invited to the holiday.

Ayaz baba and Garpamyk symbolical characters of 2023-2024 -the Rabbit and Fish as well as talented novice vocalists, musicians, and children’s choreographic ensembles took part in the fireworks show.

As keepsake of this joyful event, children, who participated in the festive event, New were presented with the New Year's gifts. At the desire of children, the photo, which captured pictures of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and young Turkmen nationals at the Main New Year’s tree of the country, was made.

On the same day, the head of the state visited the multisectoral exhibition organised in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the margins of the Youth forum,  devoted to results of the year “The happy youth with Arkadag Serdar” that took place on its eve and the New Year's festivities organised there for children.

Members of the Government of the country as well as foreign diplomats who, as well as the head of the state, brought their children and grandchildren with themselves came to the holiday.

In the New Year’s evening, numerous residents of Ashgabat and guests of our city gathered at the Main New year’s tree of the country, shining with multi-coloured lights, which once again became the highest one among the invariable New Year's attributes established in capitals of CIS states-participants.

On the open stage platform decorated by bright colours, a grandiose show with participation of best children's creative groups, popular variety performers and folklore groups was held.

The traditional festive spacebridge connected that night the Turkmen capital not only with administration centres of all velayats, but also with the city of Arkadag.

The head of Turkmenistan, warmly congratulating his compatriots on the upcoming New Year 2024, which on the oriental calendar is considered the year of Fish, underlined that we welcome it with bright wishes and let it become successful for our people and country.

In his festive message to our people, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished prosperity, abundance, happiness and achievement of all planned goals in the New year!

Following noble traditions of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag welcomed the New Year together with members of his family. Arkadagly Hero Serdar also joined the holiday.

A family solemnity was filled with creative gifts of grandchildren, who performed musical compositions, songs, poems in Turkmen, Russian and English languages.

To volleys of festive fireworks, 2024 took up the torch of successes reached in all sectors of the economic complex of the country.

On December 29, the head of the state in the Rukhyet palace held the extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers and State Security Council with participation of deputy-chairmen of the Cabinet, members of the State Security Council as well as khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat city.

In the beginning of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, having approved the proposals of deputies of the Mejlis and people, approved the motto of 2024 “'Ocean of Wisdom of Magtymguly Pyragy” and a corresponding emblem. The given choice was stipulated by aspiration to connect the motto of 2024 with the name of Magtymguly Pyragy on the occasion of the 300th birthday anniversary of the great thinker and poet-classic of the East and with the poem “Pähim-paýhas ummany Magtymguly Pyragy”, created by the brilliant talent and wisdom of Hero-Arkadag.

As was marked, on the occasion of the 300th birthday anniversary of Magtymguly  in the country and abroad it is planned to hold a number of scientific, cultural and other events devoted to the life and works of the great son of Turkmen people.

At the same time, recent days of 2023 were marked by one more important event - President Serdar Berdimuhamedov presented to Turkmen people and world community a remarkable work “Ýaşlar - Watanyň daýanjy”, in which the worthy estimation of the role of the younger generation in the life of our society is given.

Representatives of several foreign countries, in particular, neighbouring states already requested for translation of the book into their languages as valuable experience in f education of the younger generation.

Copies of the book by Arkadagly Hero Serdar “Ýaşlar - Watanyň daýanjy” were handed to participants of the joint expanded meeting.

Summing up results of the outgoing year, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov pointed out that the year “The happy youth with Arkadag Serdar” has already entered into the contemporary history of Turkmenistan by a number of unforgettable events of both international and national political significance, which touch upon various aspects of social, economic, and spiritual development of our state.

Turning to issues of preparation for the forthcoming New Year's celebrations, the head of Turkmenistan instructed to organise duties of all services, which provide up to the mark a strict control over activity of social and communal services of cities and villages, public transport movement, maintenance of population with telecommunication services as well as common observance of the law and order.

Separate instructions concerned the organisation of festive shows in cultural-entertainment establishments, theatres and circuses of the country, interesting programs on TV and radio channels.

In the chronology of events of the past week - the online working meeting, which took place on December 25 and included issues of development of the agrarian and industrial complex and the course of work in regions of the country on its agenda.

In the beginning of meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov informed on his recently published book “Ýaşlar - Watanyň daýanjy”, in which achievements and successes of our youth are noted.

The head of the state presented the first copy of the new edition to National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag.

Having heard reports on the state of affairs in regions, the President of Turkmenistan noted importance of observance of agro-technical standards in fulfilment of all agricultural work for obtaining rich harvest and gave a number of concrete instructions.

Khyakims of velayats were entrusted to ensure a high organizational level of festivities held on the occasion of the New year.

The head of the state wished further victories to the football club "Arkadag" of khyakimlik of Arkadag city and signed his name on the ball of the team, which, for the first time performed in the football championship of the country and became champion ahead of the schedule and won the Cup of Turkmenistan, having made a gold double.

According to the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan, keys to the bus “MAN RR3 19.440 EEV” were been handed to the football club.

On December 26, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to the Russian Federation where he took part in the traditional Pre-New Year' informal summit of heads of countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

During the meeting, an emphasis was made on importance to attach a qualitatively new meaning to the established partnership, proceeding from generality of standing purposes and tasks. Necessity of creation of effective mechanisms of system political consultations between CIS member countries taking into account the positive experience of joint work was thus marked.

Returning to victories of the football club, it is necessary to mark that Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also congratulated its leaders and sportsmen, having visited on the eve of the New Year's holiday the city of Arkadag with a working trip.

During the meeting, which was held in a multipurpose sports complex of the "smart city", Hero-Arkadag examined the bus presented by the President of Turkmenistan to the football club and handed over a memorable photo of Arkadagly Hero Serdar who was signing on the football.

Wishing sportsmen new successes, the National Leader of the Turkmen people emphasised that all possibilities for development of various sports, regular improvement of the technical and material basis of the Arkadag club, increase of prestige of Turkmen sports on the international scene are created in the new city.

The joint photo made at the meeting will also occupy a place of honour in the exposition of the museum of the football club.

Turning to other events of the past week, we will notice that National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met director general of “Baýkar Makina Sanaýi ve Tijaret A. Ş.” Company Lütfü Haluk Bayraktar and head of the Board of Directors of BMC Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. Fuat Tosyalı.

During the exchange of opinions to bring out a  qualitatively new level of partnership possibilities of further interaction were discussed taking into account the huge economic potential of two countries in the field of defence.

Proposals of the Turkish company, which takes an advanced place in the world in defence industry, were in this connection considered and a number of agreements in this area were reached.

It was underlined that perfection of the technical and material basis of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan is carried out according to the military doctrine, which bears a fully defensive character.

Prospects of development of interstate cooperation built on principles of mutual benefit and partnership in equal rights were discussed during the telephone conversation, which took place on December 28 between National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Great Silk road, which throughout centuries connected Asia and Europe, became one of the important themes of conversation. Being in its centre, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan do a great deal of work today for revival of this historical route, use of its huge potential in modern conditions. Readiness of both countries for activization of strategic partnership in the field of transport and energy was in this connection noted.

In the Centre for Public Organisations of Turkmenistan a solemn meeting devoted to humanitarian initiatives of Hero-Arkadag, in particular, to the many-sided activity of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Fund for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, work on education of comprehensively educated younger generation took place.

In the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan the International scientific-practical conference and the multisectoral exhibition, which became a unique display of the outgoing year “The happy youth with Arkadag Serdar” was held.

The large-scale comprehensive exposition displayed stands of the Khalk Maslakhaty, Mejlis, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, other ministries and departments, in the activity of which the youth take an important part.

In their speeches, participants of the conference made an emphasis on aspects of realisation of the state youth policy of the country. The active role of the Turkmen youth in development of multilateral international dialogue on modern important issues was also underlined. The basic achievements of Turkmenistan in 2023, a number of which were noted by international organisations with awarding corresponding certificates.

According to the Decree and Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan solemn ceremonies of conferment of state awards on representatives of the younger generation of the country, who achieved big successes in spheres of economy, science, culture, art, education, public health services, sports, defence, security and the law and order in the outgoing year took place.

So, in the history our fatherland a new stage of triumphal procession on the path of progress and prosperity begins. And May peace, well-being, prosperity and happiness prevail in every house in 2024, as President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished all!
