Hungary highly appreciates Turkmenistan's energy policy based on the principles of diversification and equal cooperation, and is ready to develop cooperation in this direction.

This was stated in Budapest at the talks between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is in the Hungarian capital on a working visit, and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

During the meeting, energy was named among the key priority areas of bilateral partnership.

During the talks, it was stressed that Turkmenistan, which has the rich hydrocarbon reserves, is implementing a strategy of diversifying energy flows, advocating the development of mutually beneficial cooperation based on equal consideration of the interests of producers, consumers and transit countries. In this regard, it was noted that the European vector has been and remains one of the priorities for Turkmenistan, which is always ready for effective cooperation with foreign partners, both on a bilateral and multilateral basis.
